Hi,
Something learned becomes easily something forgotten. Lots can be done by scripting and with official mapper, but let's just gather up some information about what can be done (maybe only?) by editing the Fallout executable.
Here is the list I can think of at the moment (mostly both fallout 1&2)
-Set starting year
-Set starting time
-Set starting date
-Overcome 13 year limit (not very clean..)
-Remove city limit
-Version number in main menu
-Debug info to screen or to logfile
-Have the jumpsuit in the beginning
-Have the pipboy in the beginning
-Choose starting map
-Choose patch-file (e.g. patch123.dat instead of patch000.dat)
-Disable videos
-Load and jump to any map you want during the game (a.k.a MapLoaderPatch. it might crash.. but it's useful when stuck behind a stupid npc)
-Save the current map to .map -file (opposite to MapLoader). Any use?
-PC to look like any critter you want
Things change and people move on. Remember to share with others what you've learned. That's what I am doing.. checking that all I know is known by others and then moving on. Fallout was great fun, a great community has been around it. I was never very active poster, but reader, player and most of all enthusiast about the engine. I just don't have too much time for these anymore.
I'll stop by here sometimes, just for the old times
Thanks and see ya.

EDIT:
I'll be here for the time to explain those on the list. Anything I missed? |

| It'd be cool if you could paste links to this stuff 'cause I haven't found some of the things you mentioned and I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it. |

Could you instead change the name of the 'data' folder? say for example instead of looking for 'data' it will look for 'moddata'
This would be really handy as you could then run multiple mods through a series of different 'loaders'
How do you make something like the FO2 Loader to run these other options
*EDIT*
Do you have a list of what the varoius hex (or decimal) offests are? It would make my life a lot easier _________________

Is it so difficult to change this?

I guess all that platon know about it can be found here.
And did you see FVP INI Maker thread? _________________ Don't shoot me, white man!
