Our friend Briosafreak gave us the heads up that Fallout 3 has gotten an award as a "finalist" for the E3's "most disapointing absence" category at Gamespot. In contrast, the game was also noted as a runner up for "the biggest surprise" award in the PC category at PC IGN. Surprised to have seen the poster? _________________

I guess it's normal to advertise games or movies that aren't even out yet. Nobody really expected to actually see a screenshot, much less some gameplay movie of Fallout 3.
Still, it would have been nice to hear a little about what kinds of design decisions were made already. You know, the little details that many people here care about. |

Huh? Screenshot? Gameplay movie?
What was at E3 was only a poster, indicating that FO3 is under production. Pre-production. Pre-pre-production. Whatever.
No screenies nor gameplay movies. _________________

I meant: Nobody would [be dumb enough] to expect something like screenshots or movies right now - as the News that Bethesda is taking over F3 is still fresh.
Plus, as far as I know - they kept saying that this is in planning stage, bla, and people shouldn't bother to ask yet.
Ultimatively, they've been planning for some months now. And might or might not have made their minds up about some gameplay details that were in question [on this board].
About that poster: Looks neat. |

Here is a link to a poster at E3....

It would be nice to hear/see if anything is concrete yet... other than what the posters are going to look like. Personally, I'm just glad to see that at least they haven't forgotten about it and, at least seem to be, doing something with it. _________________ ...it puts the lotion on its skin... |

If anyone actually bothered to read the IGN link, Fallout 3 was nominated as a surprise due to the fact that it wasn't actually shown, despite the poster being displayed at E3. I agree with them entirely... what a dumb move that was. I mean, the poster even had arrows on it (and yes, I realize the old signs also had arrows), possibly leading one to believe it was pointing towards a Fallout 3 showcase of some sort.
And being a runner-up isn't an award. |

Actually the old signs didn't ALL have arrows. I have no idea where the arrows pointed, but if they didn't point to anything in particular, I guess the poster would have been less irritating without the arrows. _________________

Quote or it was about Stalker.

I disagree respectfully. I doubt many outside our fanbase noticed , and IGN is just plain stupid to have thought this might have been something other than a vague indication that the production 9or is is still pre-production) is proceeding.

Possibly. Oh, here's the surprise!
Now go back 200 metres for a McDonalds restaurant!
