| I don't feel safe around Kilus any more - what if he breaks my fingers off via the internet tubes? Or writes a mean song about me so that I have to switch schools? |

I wrote and sang a mean song about someone once. Made the girl cry. Then my friend told me that was wrong. That's the day I learned about feelings and gained +1 to my sympathy skill. _________________

Boo.
One time, I slammed a girl's head into a wall because she punched me really hard.
I WAS 16. _________________

So what you're saying is that you are or were a jerk.
Haha. What was the damage? I bet she loved you forever after that. _________________

One time I slapped a girl. And managed to make a zit on her nose pop in the process. I think that's what hurt her most.
I never understood the concept of why you shouldn't hit back a girl that just hit you. She never hit me again, so I guess a lesson was learned that day, right ? _________________ Opokonverob Project (A RPG like in the good old days)

It's because in theory, women are much weaker than men.
Try getting hit by Layla Ali though, doubt you'd get a chance to hit back.
Damn woman beater. You are a scum of the earth! And a n00b too.

The adage is "you don't hit a lady." According to Hoyle, if she's proved herself not to be a lady, (say, by committing assault), you're fully permitted to treat her like one of the dizzy dames of 40's cinema, complete with manly bitchslapping. _________________

If you get hit by anybody, I'd like to think you'd be the better person and not hit back. Of course, if this person is posing a serious threat to you or someone else, and physical contact seems to be the only or best option, you should subdue that person within reason. _________________

I've personally never hit anyone in my life if you don't count blood relatives, nor am I ever likely to unless it's in the direct defense of someone I love. As to what I said, I'm actually quite chivalrous in thought and action. I just realize that, as a believer in gender equality (or at least gender parity), it also makes me a complete hypocrite, as it does every man that holds to the same duality of thought and every woman that espouses equality and then takes umbrage when you don't offer to open her door or carry her bags, or thinks she can get away with behavior that would get any man knocked on his ass (including, but not limited to, trying to knock a man on his ass). _________________

You guys never been hit in a heated situation, I'm guessing? I have anger issues so maybe it's just me, but sometimes the blinders go right on, and there's not much choice involved anymore, just action/reaction.
I've jumped between fighting guys more than I've fought, though.
Haha. Oh feminist duality. |

I agree and I respect people who do that, but then there's the school environment, around the age of 16, where you have bullies and bullied. If you get hit and don't hit back, you're usually not the subject of biblical awe, you're just making a step towards the bullied end of the spectrum.
Also what BN said. Your hand is much faster than your brain in such situations. _________________ Opokonverob Project (A RPG like in the good old days)

^ My ex-wife thought it was ok to slap the shit out of me on quite a few occasions. For some reason I was the badguy when I flipped the fuck out after the third or fourth time. Once she actually took both of her hands, smacked me on both sides of the face as hard as she could, and then wondered why I was roaring like the Hulk. I had to physically contain myself from beating her face in by pushing her out of the room, closing the door, and punching the shit out of it to release some steam. I hate when people try to get physical in relationships, or in most situations really.
I prefer to handle things without resorting to hurting someone. Of course, if you are attacked it is perfectly understandable to defend yourself. I have never understood the bully thing. I usually tried to handle things with my wits, but often lost my temper, and got into a couple of fights. Every fight I have ever been in has been because of a woman, in one way or the other, so take that for what it's worth. One of my pet peeves is dudes who hit on other dudes women. It's even worse if they do it in front of you. That's basically like telling you to go fuck yourself. Why are some guy's like that? I think it's kinda trashy myself. I mean looking is one thing, but saying something like "I want some of that.", or some such shit is pretty disrespectful in public. Some people are just begging to get their asses kicked. _________________

Ah yes. School grounds. That's understandable. I believe that the way to get a bully to stop bullying you, you must fight.
And, yeah, I get that "hand is much faster than the brain" deal. Usually my first reaction to an heated argument is to get punchy. Understandable. But gotta try to not let those reactions control you, now that we're not kids anymore. _________________

Fuckin' Stalactites:
My family had recently moved from California to Missouri, and I was a budding young lad of perhaps eleven years of age. We had some close family friends visiting us from Ridgecrest, CA, and our families set out to go take a tour of the Meramac Caverns.
We arrive at the location and the adults do a bit of perusing around the shops. I take this time, along with the other children, to drain my precious fluids from my body. We eventually set off into the darkness and the tour guide stops us constantly to make remarks about the water's reflection or the unique rock formations.
I'm 99% sure I'm not exaggerating when I say this went on for two and a half hours. By this time, my bladder is on amber alert. Not that bogus United States terrorist amber alert, but a "Hey, dude. You're getting an awkward boner because you have to pee real soon," type of mental notification. Three hours in, I vividly remember stopping at a "light" show, which consisted of the tour guide manually flipping a bunch of switches on and off to make the rocks look neat. They didn't look neat. The water dripping off of the stalactites was teasing me. Fuckin' stalactites.
The light show ends and I'm seriously about to power spray urine up onto my chest from my pulsating pee boner. I awkwardly power walk towards the bathroom, but I'm too late. I stop at a little partition for the buffet and just let it go. The humiliating sound of dripping urine alerts other attendants of the public health violation I was committing. Red-faced, I walk out from behind the partition, drenched, and go straight outside. I just waited awkwardly, trying to avoid contact with people, until my dad walked out to find me.
If you're reading this - Meramec Cavern employees - put a fucking porta potty halfway, you assholes. _________________ The world is a dick. |

Last time I hit someone must have been in kindergarden. I have thrown stuff at people a few times and people at stuff on some occasions. Mostly when seriously drunk and someone gets me going. Most of these memories makes me cringe because I don't like hurting people. _________________

So much this. I've not been in many fights; like 3 or so, but when I got attacked in those fights, it's exactly like you describe it. There is absolutely no way I can control my actions anymore in that state. I've never done anything out of line though, but I can totally see really bad stuff happening in such a situation. Scary. _________________ Yamu: "There's a gentle-but-implacable authority that stems from over-hyphenation which is too-often under-appreciated.
