As far as I know smoking pure weed is MORE harmful than mixing it with tobacco, tar-wise. I think it contains about seven times as much tar as tobacco. |
I thought I would mention that recent studies have shown that smoking Marijuana does not decrease your lung efficiency when compared to cigarettes which do.... |
I read that study, too. It should be noted that the rate of marijuana use they were looking at was 1-2 joints per week. |
Yeah I left that part out. |

I found a cigarette in a book today. Flushed it, didn't even think of smoking it. Been schmoke free for 18 days now, woo!

Awesome job, Candlesharon.
Good job on the flushchop, Farmerk.
I hate tobacco but I will be growing it this year. My friend gave me some seeds. One variety is the 1000 year old tobacco that was found in a native american's ceramic pot. The seeds found in it germinated!
The only problem with tobaccy is it is fucking terrible and the curing process takes sooooo long.
Maybe you can get the Quit Smoking achievement? I have only smoked a few cigarettes in my life. I just didn't like the taste, not tasty enough. _________________

Never smoked cigarettes because you didn't like the taste? I think you better look up the word "never".
I'm just razzin' ya, I know what you mean. Er... I think.
Also, good job Farmerk, clercqer, and whoever else has made positive changes in their lives. As for me? Nope, haven't done anything on that resolution list. _________________

Three months into 2012. How's everyone doing on their resolutions?
I've slid back and forth with mine. I've read a load of books but cant get this smoking thing to go away. I'll be just fine for about a week or so then get super depressed and bored and end up smoking again, I've probably quit smoking five times per month since new years, I'm sure the IRC crowd is sick of hearing about it. Oh well, still trying. _________________

I've accomplished item 1 on my list (mobility), technically-- I'm not out of Texas yet, but I'll be done with the place within a month, and with far less drama than I expected. I've also taken care of secret resolution 1.5: escape my sucking soul-wound of a relationship, which I managed to do with absolutely no drama whatsoever. She's even giving me a thousand bucks to get the hell out of here, storing my stuff, giving me visitation rights with the dog, and eventually getting around to making the matching set of Vault 13 jumpsuits I bought the fabric for over a year ago. I'll be flying out here for a photoshoot once she's done, since she's a cosplay fanatic and south Texas makes a suitable stand-in for the wasteland. All I've got to do now is accomplish secret sub-resolution 1.5.1: don't become a fatty between the time she gets my measurements and the time she finishes the suit.
Everything else on the list is fast becoming a pipe dream in light of my new circumstances, with the exception of number 4: creativity. The new girlfriend is an artist and a writer, and she seems to have made it her mission to do whatever it takes to coax some writing out of me. _________________

How have I been doing? Well let's see...

3. No more cursing. Nope.
4. Be much, much more positive. Nope.
5. Obligatory: eat healthy, get in shape. No- ...well I stopped drinking soda. Nope to the getting in shape.
6. No more slacking. Get important things done as soon as possible. Nope.
7. Stop doing whatever you've been, it's not working out. Nope. |
And that's how I've been doing. _________________

Farmerk, you'll get this smoking bug down. We're behind you all the way!
That's too bad Voof.
Good stuff Yamu. So good things are turning out alright. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
As for my resolutions: I've hopefully got numerous odd diseases. I am losing contact with my family, jobless and in debt. I just need the smack addiction and losing my place of residence and will be there. |

Dude, wtf? You fucking scored. You now own this bitch and she'll do whatever you want for you. Or she is just really cool and wants a mutual separation.
FarmerK, hang in there bro - you'll get a fancy Orderite achievement if you really quit!
Brother Buns, it's alright. We're all secretly depressed but no one needs the smack addiction! I'm behind you. _________________

Crap, I totally forgot to write down my resolutions this year.
Better to write them now than never, so I can feel ashamed every time I come back to this thread, and hence be accountable of my accomplishments !
1. Score with that girl i've been approaching since december (yeah well this is actually a resolution for this week)
2. Finish the editor for my game engine
3. Complete my fourth year of studies
4. Work out and gain weight
5. Publish a demo/small episode of our RPG
6. Finally go to the ostheopath and do exercises to straighten my back
I already feel better _________________ Opokonverob Project (A RPG like in the good old days)

Don't do the smack, BN... come live with me in New Mexico instead. It's almost as detrimental, and we can be a buddy comedy.
Also, Pip, so as not to hijack the resolution thread, let's just say that the relationship lasted far too long through some odd pressures and it left us with kind of a war buddy bond, which made for a very amicable parting. _________________

1. Take up a pescetarian diet then go full vegetarian later.
I was doing so well until we ran out of food on Friday, I got drunk and ordered a kebab.
