I don't know if a lot of people liked checking our extreme-DM traffic measurement, which kept track of our website and forum traffic and was publicly accessible, but if so, you probably noticed it's been pulled since a few days.

We've switched to using Googly Analytics (which our host set up for us a while back) to keep an eye on traffic. It's more efficient and more informative. Of course, it's also private, but we like sharing positive traffic info (and we haven't had worrying dips in years), so that's what this thread is for.

Following New Vegas' release and the DLCs going quiet, NMA was running steady at about 6-7K visits a day. We have a very loyal readerbase, and it never seems to drop below that amount even as little is going on.

Wasteland 2 has led to an increase in traffic, but the most recent spike was thanks to the free release of Fallout on GOG:

April 4: 7,531
April 5: 17,388
April 6: 22,953
April 7: 14,866
April 8: 12,825
April 9: 11,085
April 10: 9,436
April 11: 9,452
April 12: 9,515
April 13: 9,688

We seem to be running steadily at 9.5K now

An overwhelming amount of this traffic spike came from GOG.com's patch and mod links (as well as Reddit, which had links to our mods/patches as well), they sent almost 11K visits, with 73% being new visits. On April 5, 9183 visits came from referrals, on April 6, 12327 visits came from referrals. Our normal average is about 2-2.5K referrals per day.

So consider it a token of the importance of all the hard work from our modders and patchers. The unofficial and high-resolution patches, and restoration projects, are a huge boon to these people being introduced to Fallout/Fallout 2 for the first time, or replaying it after a long time.

Googly statistics are the only statistics I feel are accurate. I trust Googly, very strongly so.
