I'm currently testing the waters and this will be hard as hell. I'm not sure I'll even try it.
The beginning is quite annoying the third time you do it and I see many failures happening in the pre-Vault City part of the game.

Also currently trying the RP, and I predict the Kaga encounters will be the source of much frustration.

The pre-Vault City part of the game is the easiest part - even if many will lose here because it's still hard as hell not to die. Wait for New Reno: You'll feel the pain...

I'll play without the RP... Or I think RP installer allows you to choose what to install, am I right? So I'll install things like Cassidy talking head and so on, but not extra content. If that is possible, of course... Can anyone confirm?

ah shit... kaga is one of the elements in the RP that i really really understand why they removed.
pointless and irritating...

With any NPC he could be dealt very easily though, due to lacking AI. Damage him, he will run, but only a few meters away. Done it today, Sulik poked him to death with combat knife and he was completely not giving a F@#$ about it. As of now my preparation Iron Man run goes smoothly, done all things in Klamath and most in Den, in Modoc now (Sulik, both of us leather armors, Sulik Combat Knife, Me Hunting Rifle + 44 Revolver, level 7)

I did a quick test playthrough with a diplomatic type character and I failed miserably. Fuck that shit. I may try a gunslinger/Doc Holiday type instead. I can tell this is going to be rough.

Do we really have to use spoilers? Because I would rather just not use spoilers. I mean... if you don't want something to be spoiled, then don't read my posts, and if you don't want to wait for pictures to load then my only suggestion can be to get a faster connection.

Spoilers I care not for.

I mean I don't want anyone to miss my posts.

Well Spoiler tags are great to contain long posts so you don't have to scroll through them.

But the lack of spoiler tags is great to let long posts be free, and all in the face of everyone, 'n stuff.

Yeah! So, per request, I'm playing the boring build again. I'm going to seriously try to beat the game. I'll run away and use cheapo tactics if the opportunity arises, but no glitches or anything like that, though none that I know of come to mind atm.

I'm completely serial.

I will kill Man-bear-pig.

My hero:

So, I'm beginning to develp a deep and passionate hatred for the Fallout 2 early game. I spent I guess 15 minutes running away from ants and hitting them on the head but missing twice per turn. That's entertainment. Talked my way past faggot pants in the temple. Then I got the dog, killed the sporeplants, you get the idea. Raised small guns with all my exp. Didn't meet Kaga on the way to Klamath. My plan was to just run away if I did. Three against one at that point is just lols.

Looted all the things, got the pistol and the jacket, but jammed the lock in vics backroom and the rooms in the whatchamacallithouse, so less loot.

Decided to start with Torr. Insulted the Duntons and shot them up, burnt through a stim and two powders or something here. Those spiked knuckles are about on par with a 10mm bullet to the chest. Punched some scorpions to death.

Next up is Keeng Rat.

i hate the geckos.
i cannot not go for the geckos.
i hate it, but i must. every time.
sometimes i struggle with myself "dude whats wrong with you. its like 150 xp combined or something wtf, its nothing. you can come back later w a rifle, and laugh killing them, instead of hitting them with a knife once per 15 misses for 3 hours"
10 seconds later
*you missed*
*you missed*
"goddamn it... "

btw, you play a character almost identical to my preference, only i dont go for big guns, and pe instead of en. otherwise, same specs i usually go for

Alright - so I finished editing the pictures for my first installment two days ago, but I was too tired/non-creative to type up my adventure along to the pictures, so I will do that later today hopefully. I also realized that my entire first episode takes place almost exclusively in the Temple of Trials, ah well.

Fuck that was a long shift - my feet hurt.

TorontRayne, about the Den kids, i found out a way to make them stop bothering you: punch them once.
i do this quite often, nobody comes to their aid, they flee, and once theyre away from you you can deactivate combat.
next time you come near them, they run for their lives even without initiating combat. theyll never steal from you again, and you got no karma penalty cus you didnt kill them - you just slapped them around a bit! Very Happy

I usually have the Restoration Project installed, so I just make the orphanage quest the first thing on my to-do list when I hit The Den. The increase in Flick's prices is a little inconvenient, but even by this point in the game you should probably have enough caps not to feel the squeeze.

with the RP i tend to do that too, but sometimes getting the best outcome of that quest requires an insane speech skill (im not sure how high, i only got the best outcome one time), "forcing" me to complete the other den quests (including the tribal village) in order to level up enough to boost my speech

and im not entirely sure how beating up the kids goes with doing the orphanage quest, so i tend to go through the even bigger hastle of dumping all my stash on sulik, who doesnt get pickpocketed.

Kiting this rat like a boss.

Rescued Smiley. This was pretty damn hard I gotta say. Pretty much out of ammo, too.

On my way to the Den, got like 13 bullets left, and I sold my spiked knuckles. Crap.

Flick you, Fuck. Killing this guy is just too good to pass up. Magnum Revolver fast shot time.

Exorcist time. I also took care of the orphan situation, helped Lara et al take back the church, delivered meals and helped Rebecca with her stuffs.

Killed Kaga on my way back to Klamath. Guy has like 200 HP. As I meantioned, I couldn't get into Vic's back room, so I forgot you have to get the radio. Went back there after the Den with some guns I thought might be able to kill the door. No dice. Still not able to pick the lock and a long way from the next level. So... there's dynamite in Modoc, right?

Yup! Might as well take care of shit here before going back to Klamath.

Man, rough night. What's all this poo doing here, and what's that about your limb, Sulik?

I repair Sulik's leg with 9% doctor skill. First try didn't fix the leg but healed 4 HP. Is this normal?

I rescue that kid from the Slags, help them out. Already talked to Karl in the Den so no extra trip.

Leatherfags

This fight started with us all getting bursted by a 10mm SMG. Scary stuff. had another Robbers fight that was pretty hairy, keeping my stimpacks down below 20, and I've bought ALL of them.

When I got back to Klamath, I managed to pick the lock to Vic's back room Rolling Eyes, and the one in the buckner place. So blew up the Dunton's door intead. Finally got the radio anyway, bought Vic from Metzger and off to VC.

Did the usual stuff, found Mr Nixon, bought the plow (why did I buy the plow?), got Joshua out of servanting, talked to Valerie and got her tools mission, sold beer & booze to the bar, got the gecko mission. Off to Gecko, switched Vic for Cassidy, can only have 2 companions right now, no mentats found yet.

Found this guy, I'm rich! 150 fuel cells and nothing to use them in.

Arrived safely in Modoc, I love these back'n'forths to VC so much I had to quit at this point. More to follow!

Doomkill lives.
