I have played Fallout 3 for a few weeks. I have recently installed Broken Steel. The game has always crashed to the desktop at random intervals, but lately it has become worse. I have tried just about every solution I have found on the net, but nothing have fixed this. Modding the .ini file and deleting most of the savegames reduced the crash frequency somewhat. Today I installed the unofficial patch, but it only seems to increase the crash frequency. My system consists of a Core2Duo E8500, Radeon HD4850, 4GB RAM and is running windows 7 64bit. I am running the game in compatibility mode for Vista SP2. I have patched the game to the latest version. Here are a few of the most recent crash reports from windows. The newest reports (at the bottom) came after I installed the unofficial patch. I hope someone has some insight into what is happening. TIA

I had similar problems. Try running in compatibility mode with XP Service Pack 3. The game is known for CTD and endless load screens. Make sure Autosave is turned off, and save often. Also try running in Windowed mode, or use a program that can run fake full screen. Sorry I couldn't help more.
