Our Christmas demo turned out to be a huge success (for a Fallout 2 mod), having received a lot of kind attention from the community and well over 1000 downloads in the past quarter of the year. We also got a lot of praise as a team, for which we are very grateful. But the moment of relishing in our *cough* worldwide celebrity *cough-chuckle* has passed and now we're back in the workshop again. In the first months following the release of the demo, we decided to focus on precising and freezing the design element of the mod. This will not only enable us to better assess the time and resources needed to complete the game, but will also help us make sure every element of the plot comes together and ties in nicely with one another.

We have also made significant progress in the art department, mainly thanks to the impressive works of Stampedo who churned out about a dozen ending screens within a week. To provide you with a proper dose of classic Fallout eyecandy, we did a major tidying up of our website's Gallery, removing all the old screenshots that did a very poor job of showcasing the current shape of the project. Note that all of the new screenshots in the gallery have been taken during one continuous playthrough of the mod. To top it, we have added some cinematic/end-game illustrations and some concept art.

We are also happy to introduce our new members: BBmultipass, a scripter known for his involvement with the Fallhope project, and Gaspard whose tasks include proofreading, writing and providing more artworks for the game. We are always looking for recruits and will be very happy to take on hard-working writers, a talking heads 3D artist and an experienced mapper.

a little update.. who ever checked it last night then theres some more shots and no flash/lightbox issue, i kinda fucked up a few things with the upload... sorry, all fixed now

Thanks for the update guys, glad to see the project is alive and well.

The demo was really excellent and I think I'm not taking any risk when I say that if you somehow inserted it into FO1 or FO2, a first-time player would never guess it's a mod (in contrast, I reinstalled the old MR demo after having playedthe newer one and man, what a difference in terms of quality of writing, scripting, mapping and more generally in terms of respecting the Fallout design canons. Congrats!).

We're moving along quite nicely, the game will be about as big as Fallout 1, so I'll guess - about 12 months minimum.

Yes we are certainly still working on the game. Since ardent's arrival we have reintroduced a lot of cut content which was originally cut to save time. We have been playtesting some of the initial towns in the game this last month before we move onto other areas of the game. Very Happy

Indeed, there's a lot of stuff reintroduced or pimped up for more enjoyment. Mr. Green

Some more highlights of our activity since the last update:
* Many design issues ironed out and precised.
* A couple of new maps done. It takes long to build them, but the effects are stunning. Hats off to Pixote.
* Many dialogues written and/or revised. We have almost wrapped up another town (dialogue-wise) after heavy re-designing, and scripting on it should start this month.
* I've been tweaking weapons and ammo a lot, changing stats, adding new stuff (mostly melee) and removing some overpowered F2 guns, as well as evening out the progression, putting extra love to thrown weapons, energy weapons and big guns. So far, I've only tested it on my special "shooting range" map, but in-game testing will follow in due time.

All in all, we're progressing steadily and are mostly on time with our internal, tentative, uber-secret milestone spreadsheet.
