Trololo is a video of the nationally-honored Russian singer Eduard Khil (AKA Edward Khill, Edward Hill) performing the Soviet-era pop song “I am Glad, ‘cause I’m Finally Returning Back Home” (Russian: Я очень рад, ведь я, наконец, возвращаюсь домой). The video is often used as a bait-and-switch prank, in similar vein to the practice of Rickrolling.
YouTuber RealPapaPit uploaded a video clip titled “I am very glad, because I’m finally back home” on November 26th, 2009. The performer singing in the video was identified as Eduard Anatolyevich Khil, a Soviet-era vocalist once celebrated as the “Honored Artist of the USSR” in 1968 and “People’s Artist of the USSR” in 1974. As of May 29th, 2012, the video was renamed “Mr. Trololo original upload” and has received over 12 million views.

At least he was aware of what an odd gift he had given to the world. That's a comfort :]
I stumbled upon some of his interviews while I was courageously and blindly traversing the uncharted parts of this grand and mad ocean we call the Internet. He was indeed lulzy.
I did read on wiki that according to his son, he was never quite sure if the meme-trend was making fun of him, or not. This I found a bit unfortunate, but I guess it's very difficult for someone not familiar with the dynamics of internet communities, to pinpoint when someone is laughing at or with them.
I think it's pretty safe to say, the majority of us laughed with him, cus he was fuckin awesome, ho-ho-ho-ho-ho, ha-ha-ha-ha-ha :'D _________________ "That's your excuse for everything, isn't it - being dead."
