Trademark infringement? I feel I may be overlooking something obvious, but what has Interplay done that Bethesda could conceivably sue them for that? I wouldn't think it could have anything to do with FOOL unless they're asserting that Interplay breached the contract, has no more right to use the Fallout IP for the V13 project, and is suing them for continuing development on it.
Defonten's work is excellent, as always. _________________ "Bore, n.: A person who talks when you wish him to listen."

An unannounced project containing Nuka Cola, Fallout shelters and Pip-Boy 2000s.
It feels somewhat ironic that intellectual property is enabling someone to sue the makers of an imaginary world for building upon said world, while at the same time making shitty copies of it.
Very nice art work though... Maybe I'll have to buy one of his posters. _________________

Words fail me to express the hatred for both companies. The picture is amazing on all levels. _________________ Dad named me after some comic book character from before the war. Said he was a mean sonuvabitch too. |

That picture looks like concept art for New Vegas. Hotel and casino signage everywhere, a cathedral in the background for quicky weddings, even an obligatory handjob to a member of the development team with a sign saying "JE".
Unannounced project my ass. _________________ <bb>: tech demo eh

Come to think of it, one of the keep out signs on the fence looks like it says NMA. Either that or NBA. _________________ <bb>: tech demo eh

Well...screw both companies.
I feel bad for the people involved in Project V13 because all their work will probably end up in the garbage bin ( don't hope so ) but that's working for incompetent people for you.
Interplay should have died a loooooooong time ago.
Actually, I'm sure Interplay is but a name on the mailbox where Herve Caen receives the checks from GOG, Amazon and Steam... |

When Bethsoft acquired the Fallout license they agreed with Interplay to allow them (Interplay) to produce a Fallout MMO provided they got funding within a certain time. They failed. |

unannounced huh? Hmm... you have Vault Boy up there in a Pip-Boy 2000 advertisement on that building, the cars look like the cars from Fallout, the shadowed sign in the front basically says "Nuka Cola" and has the same font as the Fallout 3 Nuka Cola... gee, I wonder what this game could possibly be...
My question is, how old is that piece of art? Because it is stated on the website that this is for an Interplay project, and there are other Fallout concept art on the site that say "For Interplay Entertainment 2008" so this is most likely for the Fallout Online project. So, not to rain on anyone's parade here, its probably from an Interplay Fallout game that will never be released.
As for Bethesda vs Interplay... I'm not surprised. _________________

I find it hard to pick a dog in this fight.
FOOL seemed doomed to never get off the ground, and even if it did I'm highly dubious of what it would've amounted to anyway. Bethesda, well, we know what's motivating them, and it's not the pursuit of building a better Fallout RPG.
In a way, anything that hastens the final death of that which is currently known as Interplay is probably a good thing, and inevitable. But I can't get behind Bethesda's efforts to be keepers of the flame, when it's just a transparent move to consolidate, and make permanent/legitimize their claim to be sole owners of the license so they can pimp it out even further.
I really don't want to hear any disingenuous bullshit from Howard or Hines on this about how their magnanimous benevolence is keeping Fallout going. _________________

I wish Interplay would just die already, and if Beth can help, so be it.
Then all the awesome people there can go to Obsidian to work on offline New Vegas : ).Or help Brian Mitsoda.Or something. |

The only original Fallout dev (or any dev we know of, for that matter) still at Interplay is Chris Taylor. Although he hasn't posted in the IPLY forum for 2 weeks, so he might have left already as well. Jason Anderson left early this year to work on Wasteland 2 at inXile.
Maybe when Herve's Interplay in name only finally dies, Brian Fargo will buy the name back? _________________ The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout: New Vegas * Star Wars: The Old Republic Wiki * Alpha Protocol Wiki |

We all knew this was coming. Come on, just look at Herve track record.
Question is, I wonder if Beth is regretting bailing him out of involuntary bankruptcy? _________________ The darkspot in the universe |
