Does anyone happen to know if there's a mod that lets you use Aid items (Antivenom, psycho, etc.) on companions? I searched the Nexus but couldn't find anything. I don't know how much trouble it would be to mod this into the game but if it doesn't exist yet is there anybody here who would be willing to make this?

Basically what I'm looking for is something along the lines of:

1. Ability to use drugs, alcohol, doctor's bags, antivenom on companions through their inventory.

2. Ability for companions to administer these things to themselves.

3. Ability for companions to become addicted.

So it would be nice if someone could either point me in the direction of a mod that does something like this, or to possibly try to create the mod themselves if one doesn't exist.

Yeah, it would be great if companions could use antivenom, doctor bag's, alcohol, chems, etc.

But the problem is, if a modder implemented this feature, he (or she) also need to balance the companions. Heavelly.
Simply allowing companions to use those items will turn them into "gods", because they already are quite buffed.
There's another issue, companions don't pause battles like the Courier when needing to use stims, for example, so if their heath drop to lower levels this most of the time means they are dead, because they will stop fighting to use a stim, but the enemy won't stop attacking them.

So the question is, it's worthy? Imagine a Cazador stinging a companion and the dumb idiot stop firing and start using antivenom. Since Cazadores don't stop stinging until you're dead, companions would stop fighting and simply will start to drink antivenom nonstop. Laughing

I don't know if it's possible, but maybe the wheel could be modified to allow the Courier to apply antivenom to them, just like you apply a stimpak.

Yeah the antivenom is the thing I want to be able to use on them most, that should have been in the game from the start. I play with Project Nevada and Increased Wasteland Spawn (and usually low Charisma) so I don't really have to worry about companions becoming overpowered. I guess I could settle for them not being able to use items on themselves, but mainly I just want them to be able to apply stimpaks and antivenoms after a battle if that's possible.

I haven't tested this yet but does anyone know if the OWB stealth suit will use stimpaks on a companion if they're wearing it?

In New Vegas, YES! It's a new mod called, brace yourself, "Heal Others". It adds a small collection of medical items that allow you to heal other people. You can buy this collection of items cheap for 50 caps at Dr. Usanagi's Clinic as well as off Julie Farkas.
