inXile CEO Brian Fargo lets everyone know that at the end of the month the Wasteland 2 pre-order price via Wasteland 2 store is going up $5. inXile will slowly increase the price as they get closer to release and have more to show, early adopters get the game cheaper than it'll retail at.The minimum amount for our Wasteland 2 Paypal tier will permanently increase from $20 to $25 at the end of the month. http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com/store In other Wasteland 2 news, batch 3 is up for the inXile Unity crowdsourcing experiment, this batch asking contributors to "re-invent and rebuild" some of the robots from Wasteland.Special note: This batch is a special treat for our fans of the original. Included are several enemy profiles from Wasteland, and it is your challenge to re-invent and rebuild them. As a guide, we are including one example of our vision, for the Slicerdicer, as it has been upgraded, modified and repaired over the years. We encourage you to be creative and inventive in your re-interpretation of these classic bitmaps as well.

An interesting trend.
IIRC, InXile has already increased the lowest late-comer's amount of contribution. Now, we see that the same is done with the pre-order price.
These two facts combined with the perspective of a new Torment kickstarter could mean that InXile are running out of funds.
Or, they could not.
EDIT: late comer's contribution and the pre-order seem to be the same, but... nonetheless. I'm worried.

Oh, heh, no worries there. This was the plan all along, to slowly increase the price to the full retail price, which will indeed be higher than $25 as Lexx predicts. Just a way to award early adapters. The game's fully budgeted anyway, these are just extras, not a part of the core budget.
They've got funds and running income from more than just Wasteland 2. Don't worry about them running out of money, they're fine. The Torment Kickstarter will be separate too, its own budget and pre-production team, not related to Wasteland 2 at all, there's no shared money there. |

I hope this is a really solid game, but not having played the original I wasn't going to pay for a yet-to-be-made sequel.
If they go much above $25 I don't think I'll be buying until a Steam sale or whatever might get it back down to my threshold. Over the last few years my max pay out for a game went from ~$45 to 40, 35 and now I can't recall the last time I payed even $30 for a game - it's just too easy for me to read a book, play with my kids, revisit FO2/Torment/BG2/RomeTW and buy the game a year later at 75% off.
(I think I actually buy more games but spend less $ these last couple years. Thinking this over made me curious about my last 2 years of Steam activity, this is what my account shows:
OrangeBox/World of Goo/M&B Warband $20 (my 1st purchase on steam, Nov of 2010 and easily worth it, 4 games I really liked ~$5 each)
Gothic 1,2,3 for $5.75 (really liked 2, 1 decent, yet to load 3)
Company of Heroes $2 (never played it)
BreathofDeath/ChulhuSavetheWorld $2.50 (interesting)
Assassins Creed 2 $5 (fun game)
XCOM set/Bastion/Skyrim $36 (my biggest purchase since FO:3 - enjoyed each but could have waited for Skyrim price to drop more)
Portal 2 $7.50 (loved this game, price was a steal)
Shogun2TW $10 (enjoyed it)
STALKER/Walking Dead $20 (really liked both of these)
Metro FREE (yet to play)
RomeTW $1 (just got the digital copy of an old favorite)
Before digital gaming I'd buy 2 or 3 games I really wanted each year (say DragonAge, Mass Effect2, FO3 in 2010) at ~$35-40 each. Now on Steam/GOG I've purchased 22 games in 3 years but average $5.22/game. Digital distribution and these sites big sales have totally changed my buying habits. Quality > Price; Price > Having the "now" game now) |

| This is pretty normal. An old-ish example that comes to mind is Mount & Blade, back in 2004 or thereabouts. The game was in development and you could buy it cheap, with the promise of countinuous improvements and that the price would go up as they progressed. |

I wish 'em luck anyway. Even if the project fails or doesn't come up as good as as expected, I still would be happy with how I've spent my money on the kickstarter (coz they've finally ended up in better hands, than mine) |

I don't get it... Pre-order with only one in-game screenshot displayed on their website? Pre-order?!
Does Brian Fargo really work on this title? Who owns the rights to the game? Also, any gameplay video?! _________________

Well 60,000 people "pre-ordered" the game through Kickstarter with no screenshots whatsoever, so what's the deal?

Wow! I was so wrong... After watching the Kickstarter video and reading more about Wasteland 2, seems that celebrity has its perks. $3,000,000 pledged of $900,000 goal. Just wow!
Brian managed to get the original designers to work on the sequel and the music will be made by Mark Morgan (!). I guess I will look forward to the sequel then... One question thought: Brian says the game will be from top-down perspective. But this screenshot makes me think that the game is kind of 3D. So, which one is it? _________________

It will be 3D, I think you'll be able to change the camera perspective somewhat. Like, going from isometric to top-down. _________________ Moderate godlessness? Not likely. |

That is neat but i for one get a little confused when planning tactics in a 3D environment. _________________
