Dragon Age? What the hell happened to you?

I am sure there are gamers who get an orgasm from watching this.

I am not one of these gamers and I couldn't give a shit about something that seems to be a copy from the LotR movies with some random murdering and mentioning of sex.

But then again, I am not the target audience and can keep my wallet shut.

 

I feel like I was just raped.

My complaints with the trailer is the pointless showing of the sex scene (my guess is that it will be the one and only one in the game) and the music. I'm all for bloody battles, I like my games to have appropriate amounts of gore (no it's not realistic but it looks better than Fallout 3... but this is a trailer). I'd say that judging the entire game off of this trailer would be a mistake, it's meant to sell copies, not inform the viewers. They had videos on their website earlier that showcased the RPG gameplay (nothing spectacular but it looked like it'd be a step up from their normal games) and as long as they actually have those, I'm satisfied. All that said, I doubt that my current computer will even be able to run it so it doesn't really matter for me, I'll hear about it before I have a reason to buy it.

For a while I thought they actually produced good games, that was until people brought me to attention that they stick to a formula.

I then realized that behind the whole 'epic' presentation there is barely much content at all.

Like Bethesda their main goal is to appear as popular as possible with their games defining the RPG genre, and yet barely having done anything to earn this reputation.

 

You show a non gameplay trailer and excepted it to see anything worthwhile? The Planescape:Torment trailer didn't show a single line of dialogue.

Meh felt like so many fan made trailers on youtube. But where was the sex part? That part was more hinting then showing. Compared to scene Prince Of Persia Warrior Within I thought it looked like they were conserving body heat.
Anyway, bit early to condemn a game because a trailer.

 

We're not condemning the game because of a trailer ( even though the fact that Dragon Age has Bioware plastered all over means the game is more or less already fucked ) but the "philosophy" ( puked in my mouth a little ) behind such a trailer. I mean it's beyond ridiculous. It's just like releasing an official trailer for GTA IV focusing on civilian killing with Slipknot's "All Hope Is Gone" for soundtrack...

You likely don't share the sentiment, but it's similar to the sudden expectations regarding Obsidian pulling something other than shit out of their ass.

It's not likely to start now, and BioWare is simply tapping into the "hardcore" market with Dragon Age as Bethesda supposedly did with Fallout 3.
Of course we know the problem is that their definition of the hardcore market is defined by dirty weasels.

Yes, but it showed some terrible combat, these trailers typically do speak some truth regarding the final product.
There's this strange assumption that every company is Blizzard regarding the previews and the final product. Most developers will never drastically alter their originally design plans, and this is especially the case for Bioware, their pre-release junk almost always mirrors the final product, they like streamlining what they manage to pull out in the first year or two and not suffer any major alterations.

 

If I were to make the worst game trailer list, this would be at the top.

 

Wow, that was just... I don't even know, that was god-awful beyond reason. Damn, and I had at least a little hope for this game being good, well, that's pretty much gone now.
