Oblivion also has some of the most terrifiying character design you will ever see.
It also has a problem with the setting. If you check the Guide Book to Cyrodill (the province with the Imperial City), you will get a description of a crossbreed between the Roman Empire and Japan. In the game, you will get a very bland medieval setting.

For lore, skyrim is far worse.
    dragonborn? dragon bullshit.
all the lore of TES sucks except for Morrowind.
so I don't care about lore for other TES because it's not funny at all.

The odd thing is, the Elder Scrolls lore is quite good, but Bethesda wastes a lot of potential by pandering to a large audience, and not just long-time fans of the series and people who read every book they come across (in the games).

well if you have people working on it that throw around comments like "For us Fantasy is a guy on a horse back killing stuff" then really ... how much can you actually expect?

The ironic thing is, that in neither Oblivion nor Skyrim you can kill things from a horseback ...

    The lore, damm...
For Morrowind, actually it was really good.
and most important thing is that the lore is not a decoration but connected with game play. but for other series, it's just decoration, meaningless and illogical.
for Daggerfall, which actually I didn't care much, is actually good to because the lore was invented at that time but that lore builder left beth after Daggerfall and while making Morrowind.
dragon fire, dragon born, sheogorath(after oblivion) is just piece of shit. some part of book might good but it doesn't affect game play. why just add some decent novel as a mod and read it? or just but book from book store rather than read pos while playing game?

I believe Skyrim got a patch that allowed combat from horseback. Not very good combat, mind you. If you want some good mounted combat, try Mount and Blade, now, that game understands combat on horseback.

Bethesda are incredibly inept, they add horse combat and you can not even fucking hit anything with it.

Must be nice to be able to make lots of money and get so much praise with half assed work.

its for immersion. Hitting things from a horse took a knight probably years to train! Bethesda is just giving you ... realism!

But it would be far realistic than Daggerfall's horse riding.
You can fly with the horse!!

I love that game. It immediately invites you to make up your own story, even your own lore for that matter. I really appreciate that - from the start, you decide who you are, what your ambitions are, and you work for it.
Due to your own fortune or misfortune, your ambitions may change underway, creating its own sense of variation.

I also really enjoy the combat mechanics. It will punish you severely for arriving unprepared, but if you have good skills and good gear, you can be a total combat hero - and deserve to be it! :D

Only problem for M&B is AI.
at some point, all lords are disappear because of idiot kings. without that, I really like M&B too.

    Bah...
    RPG review from non-RPG player.
Why don't they just stick with action or FPS.
criticise combat without how it works what a great review.
and hate a lot of text.
in Morrowind, text is the most important thing.
actually for other "REAL Quest RPGs"(not just fake RPG but action, FPS or choring game.), text is the most important thing.
but play RPG with hatred of reading text? it's same as cat to enjoy swim.(you know, cat hates water.)

I second that "Bah... ", what a shitty review.
Basically "Boo hoo, this game is very difficult to me - therefore it is universally difficult, and a terrible game!"

    No.

He is running around Level 1, in Seyda Neen, trying to raise hell. Of course he's gonna die.

Wtf, aren't we Fallout players? What happens if you throw a spear at the Elder Woman at the very beginning?
    You...
    Die...
"Boo hoo what a difficult game D':"

Wtf... "words words words - no dragon shouting!"
That better be a clever parody. But it isn't, is it? :(

It's more like "to reload gun, "r" doesn't work! so you have to right click twice and left click once to do that. boo hoo"
or "even it's close to enemy, sometimes you miss the shot boo hoo."

    I hope so...

for me, I already saw review like that without satire
so I didn't think it was satire
rewatching video and I relize it was satire.
it is sad that lots of "light gamers"(don't think they are "light") are really saying like that without satire.
