Arcanum for me. That IP deserves more than one game.
While I like and love all the other games on the list (exception goes for Alpha Protocol, since I never played it). They all had other games using their IP. Only Arcanum is original and in my opinion deserves at least another game.

Although, I would also love another game using the Temple Of Elemental Evil engine. I would love a larger and more in-depth game. Where the player could take their party from level 1 to epic levels. With recruitable companions that would be (at least) as good as Baldur's Gate games' ones. A large over-world map of the entirety of Faerûn or something ridiculous like that.

I'd like to see a Fallout sequel some day, but I don't think one will ever get made.

As far as one that can get made... Alpha Protocol seems the only one possible. Does Tim & co. still own Arcanum? I'd have liked a sequel (actually an Obsidian game module) of Temple of Elemental Evil; but I think Activision owns the game; not to mention WoTC.

Well it is just supposed to be a fun conversation and not taken too seriously. Most of the games may never happen. BTW Paradox owns the rights to VTM: Bloodlines and obsidian expressed interest in making a sequel so I would say VTM has a better chance of getting a sequel. Alpha Protocol is owned by Saga and I doubt Saga would let obsidian make a sequel after the game bombed so hard.

Alpha Protocol. A spy fiction RPG is an intriguing concept, and while I love New Vegas I rather not have Obsidian having to deal with Bethesda anymore.

New Vegas is a great closure for Obsidian.

However... KOTOR... man... That would be good :/

As much i'd like to see Obsidian do another Fallout game, knowing Bethesda they would put stupid restrictions on them.

Never actually played any of those other games.

If you get the game on steam then download the unofficial patch on moddb. It is what the gog version uses.

Obsidian just needs to be smart and rip off franchises they don't technically own but can still make good "spiritual sequels" to.

Just because they don't have the rights to Fallout doesn't mean they can't make a good retro futuristic, post apocalyptic RPG. The only reason the original game got made in the first place was because Tim Cain and Interplay didn't have access to Wasteland. Everyone would get what it was supposed to be and we all know it would be quantum leaps ahead of the cash grabbing addiction machines that get labeled "Fallout" today in terms of quality.

They could do the same thing with Knights of the Old Republic or literally anything else on this list. An RPG with laser sword wielding monks who use telekinetic powers in space. Just don't call it Star Wars. I know the guys at Obsidian are creative enough to come up with their own royalty free stories. Basic gameplay mechanics can't be copyrighted.

Eh, I'm kinda glad that Obsidian is doing their thing with PoE and Tyranny. I've only tried PoE and it's a good game, though disappointing in some regards.
Either way, it would be better for Obsidian to make their own IPs instead of working as devs for hire.

That being said, we are forgetting that FNV is a decade old. The team that made it is long gone. Lots of key players have left Obsidian. Expecting another game of such depth and scope is maybe a bit too optimistic.

On the other hand, from what I've heard Cain and Boyarski's new game will be inspired by FNV a lot. In that regard, @TerminayChill has a point. As they say, good artist copies, great artist steals. We'll see how it goes. I just want them to do their own thing.

Dunno, Avellone left Obsidian so I question them making sequels to the ones I'd want.

I loved KOTOR 2 and Fallout NV, but I just wonder how much of an influence he had on those projects. Even if it was just to keep a consistency to them in story tone, I'd want him there.

Avellone's influence on New Vegas was minimal outside of the DLC. Obsidian still has talented people.

I guess that came off as a bit undermining to those still at Obsidian. When it came to NV, a lot of my favorite portions of the game come from the story DLCs, which Avellone had a larger influence on.

Similarly, with KOTOR 2, Kreia was one of my favorite parts of the game. Who was written as a mouthpiece for Avellone's issues with the Force as a part of the Star Wars universe.

Just comes down to personal preference, in that I really like what Avellone does. I don't doubt that Obsidian as a company would still do a good job with Fallout and KOTOR. I would just miss Avellone.

The game is called The Outer Worlds. We don't know anything about the game besides that it is obsidian's biggest game yet or so they say. So we can speculate. The name make it sound like Sci-fi though.

Yeah, Obsidian filed a trademark for The Outer Worlds late January this year. Can't find anything if it's going to be inspired by New Vegas though. If it was like New Vegas but in space, that would be actually great.

The only time I heard that The Outer Worlds was going to be inspired by NV was on video by Juicehead. A lot of people seem to think Obsidian is making some kind of fallout spiritual successor for some reason.
