Canonically, Dogmeat does get burned up by a forcefield at Mariposa Military Base. What patch did you install? Sounds like you just need to reinstall the game. Your saved games shouldn't go anywhere.

Just start over. Reinstall the game, install Fix't into it, and begin again. That's really all you can do at this point.

Why do I have 24000 days to begin with? (Using purist install mode)

You need to kill the Deathclaw Mother (and her eggs) in the basement to complete the quest. If you kill only the surface Deathclaws, Gabriel will tell you to wait a day or two to see if they come back. If you get the mother, his dialogue will be totally different and you can complete the quest...

Sending water to the Vault had consequences when Fallout was initially released, but they were patched out (which I do agree with too).

Hi Skitzie, Remember to patch up first! Search for "Fallout Fixt" on Google. I can't link to it because I'm a new member. Try and find the water chip within 100 days; the community around its location will be wiped out and you won't get to meet a fairly colorful character after that happens...

Can somebody please re-upload this file? I'm running into the same problem on my Powerbook G4 :)
