Fallout 2 mod Oblivion Lost mod - NEW Patch!

i reinstalled the fallout 2 and i leave it in 1.00 vanilla and installed the mod again like the setup recommends, but the bug is still there, when i click to open the pipboy, the game freeze and i need to reload the game, i have the 1.04 version, i dunno what's going on, this is the only mod with this problem.
Which oblivion lost installer are you using?
Is it the one I linked in the "How to install" video I made?
 
i downloaded the installer from the mediafire folder with a lot of mods, i downloaded and installed a lot of them, and all of the others works fine, only the Oblivion Lost im having this bug, i even downloaded the version from the video, but is freezing the same of the others, i dunno, maybe is somenthing in my pc who is causing this ?

this screen shot is just after i pressed the pipboy icon, the character is freezed and the mouse icon changed.

well, I remember installing oblivion lost was a bit tricky, that's why I made the video documenting the process.
Would you be willing to try re-installing using the method I lay out in the video?
 
I dunno what's wrong with my installation, but i installed both RU versions in the setup and the pipboy works fine with no problem, i even nstalled with all that options unmarked to see if changes something, but nothing changed at all.

Well i did a new instal like the video you created, but the pipboy error still there, only in the RU versions that he works fine, i dunno what is that all about, so im kinda confused, can you show me a SS with the pipboy working in the version 1.04 ?

Wow, you're right, apparently this 1.04 version has a weird bug that locks up the game when you try to open the pip-boy.
This definitely didn't happen in the 1.03 version,
which is the last version I played,
although I can't find my copy anymore,
or even the download link :(

I'll ask around and see if anybody else has run into this and knows how to fix it.

I've already tested it in both subfolder and root folder install modes, and also added my Patch002.dat file, no such luck so far.

The pipboy.msg text file got butchered somehow in Patch001.dat.

I added a fixed version to my Patch002.dat for Oblivion Lost, and updated it to coincide with v1.04.

Just download and extract this patch002.dat to the Oblivion Lost mod folder you installed to.
This will replace the original patch002.dat that comes with v1.04 of Oblivion Lost installer.
If you want to keep the two Russian language files located in the installer version, you can just rename my Patch002.dat to patch003.dat and it should work fine, just remember my patch002.dat is for the english language version.:)

Sorry for the confusion and the delay, I haven't played this mod in like...5 years or something.
Please let me know if this works or not! :)

Thanks bro, i will test it right now, i donwloaded the version 1.02 from a yutube channel, them i copy the data and paste in the folder, the problem with pipboy was solved but i found some new bugs.

Ps quests:
There some quests from original fallout 2 that is disabled in the mod right? Trying to talking with smitthy in the den and he just curse me out lol.

Yup, all the car quests are intentionally disabled. Seems the original devs wanted to prevent the player from leaving the area.
Its possible to get the car anyway, by killing Skeeter in gecko and looting his body, then manually repairing the car yourself (you'll probably have to kill smitty to do this), but if you enter any of the modded maps with the car it will disappear.
The maps were never scripted to handle the car :(

Ah, i understand now, but in the normal game maps works fine ?
 
I didn't check, I just accepted the loss :P
But I don't see why the vanilla maps wouldn't work.
Seems kind of silly to go to the amount of effort they already did to block off the car.
The car is the most fancyest thing in fallout 2 and they blocked it in the new maps, what the devs are thinking ????? lol

You can't do a patch to fix this ? :P
 
Well...making a patch for the car would require I decompile and re-write all the map scripts to accept the car and give it a place to stay, and I've never worked with a car script up to this point, so I have no idea how to do this yet...

Maybe someday?
If you want to do it yourself, I can try and teach you scripting :P

There's something wrong in the Cathedral of Prypriat, everytime i get closer, the game crashs any ideas ?

I've made a few videos showing most of the basic modding steps, plus a bunch of videos I've added since that cover scripting as much as I can.
Also I stream my work on the Mutants Rising mod on saturdays, and questions are always welcome :)


As far as the Cathedral of Prypiat...if you have my patch installed and it's still crashing then I'm afraid I don't know what's specifically causing the crash. I'd have to do some digging, and would probably need a save file to duplicate the crash.

This game is fully developed or they are still working on it ? i saw some videos on youtube people talking about the bugs in the supercomputer room and after you destoy it.

the game was on the correct way, but looks like they dropped it

Yes, I'm working on mutants rising right now.

I'm pretty sure Oblivion Lost won't get any more updates, so anything else is going to come from the modding community. Which I don't mind adding a few fixes here and there.
