He really is the George Lucas of video games. He desperately needs an editor or someone to tell him to stop being a retard. If he would just SHOW RESTRAINT and show not tell, it woud allow his ideas to flourish 100000x better.

I think Death Stranding is on par with MGS 4 on goofy shit. He needs a good editor. I won't lie though the last few episodes really hit me hard and it felt like some of the melodrama was earned. But really Mama is the worst character in any Kojima game. She might as well be spewing breast milk.

The prologue of Death Stranding is great because it throws you into an alien world and you're just happy to be along for the ride. Then the exposition tide just never fucking stops and every concept has to be overexplained. Maybe he should take a queue from his pal Refn and learn that if you aren't good at the substance but are at the style, just have less than ten pages of dialogue and let people vibe out.

The "Asylums for the Feeling" trailer is basically what I wanted from the game. Cool looking courier traverses alien landscape alone with only moody music to accompany him. The game has that but just obscures it with overwhelming tidal waves of bullshit from every direction.

After you beat the game some of those early moments change a bit in your mind.

A lot of that bullshit will slow down halfway through. Starts to be just about the mission a bit.

How far are you?

I've powered up the bike for the first time and I've just left Central Knot City for the big longhaul job to Port Knot City after getting the blood-grenades.

So far I can feel myself trying to like it but I can't beat the fact that the most enjoyable bit of travel was the first time getting down the cliffside in the prologue.

No. Lol. Man you just went through the most boring part of the game.

Let's just say the game is about to actually open up for you. By the time you get to the snow you will know what I mean.

Protip: Get to the boss fight with Higgs before you start OCD collecting every last side mission. You unlock good gear then.

I hope so, I am still holding faith in the game so far. I am a bit bummed out that Spotify is blocked though since I wanted to listen to some Aphex Twin and Low Roar whilst I walked. I will entrust in your judgement and keep chugging though

The reason why is you will unlock a fast travel option. It will slow the tedium and allow you to progress at your leisure. Personally I skipped most side missions so I missed a lot of gear. Don't burn out on side missions is the point. The story is cheesy but in the end I think worth it. The credits roll too long.

You end up going back in after you beat the game so you can do side missions then if you still like the gameplay. Personally I didn't bother much because by then you have unlocked all the weapons. Games needed more weapons and it would have been a lot better but Kojima did this (mostly) non lethal shit. I ended up just murdering the fuck out of people near the end.
