Don't read Wheel of Time.

Aren't there a shit ton of Wheel books, all the size of a phone book. . .and the whole never finished thing going on with them too.

Neverending from one author to another. Read something not a Tolkien ripoff.

Last time, I checked the series was completed.

I would still read Hyperion. I never felt like Wheel of Time knew where it was going.

Wot is fucking long with each book being about 1000 pages, then the author died so it was finished by Brian Sanderson who I felt was inferior and really changed a lot of the characters and dialogue for the worst. The middle also drags hard with little happening, there's some good shit in there but as the series goes on the cast of characters causes shit to go at a snail's pace.

I feel the Tolkien comparisons is really only apply to the first book. Then it just starts taking from a lot of different mythologies. If you do read it at least get to The Dragon Reborn (third book) before you stop because it's a good rest point and shows more of what to expect in the series.
