I dont think ME1 was even close to being what I want out of an rpg (outside of kind of reminding me of kotor) so 2 being slighlty less of an rpg is no bother for me.
Because mass effect had a lot of cancer in it. Specifically the dialogue wheel and muh romanceable companions. Its really speaks to the quality of the universe and characters they made that they're able to overcome this tumor of a dialogue system.
To this day it's still lauded as an example of voiced RPG dialogue wheels done well and I literally don't understand how. It's the exact same thing as F4
Its retarded. Every time I pick a dialogue option theres a 50% chance shep is gonna say something completely different than the wheel. It's like they said "let's have a voiced protag" then they realised how redundant that is with a dialogue sytem
Where you read where they're gonna say. So instead of accepting that a voiced protag is redundant and stupid for games like this they instead chose to break the dialogue system and make it lie to you.
Were talking about two different things. I'm not talking about rp opportunities. I'm talking about how the wheel lies to your face about what an option is or has the same voice line under several options.
