Fallout 2 utility Translating a mod?

I think my understanding of the system is somewhat limited and I may be misunderstanding what you're saying since... Is this (https://github.com/BGforgeNet/msg2po) the github for the open source part of this project? If somebody were to compile this and run it on their own server would the have...

Fallout 2 utility Translating a mod?

:(* I agree lol I forgot the crowd I was in, I meant new projects need your permission, as opposed to just a registration or something. Sadly that makes it sound like translators would be forced to use notepad and would be unable to use your system in any meaningful way? :( oh that's frickin...

Fallout 2 utility Translating a mod?

Ah ok, so it's a permission based system on a private server? Do you have a vetting process? or is it just informal? If somebody wanted to start a translation of one of the bigger known mods (like Nevada, Sonora or Yesterday) would that be possible? (I'm unaware if these have githubs) lol of...

    Fallout 2 utility avi2mve

lol of course it is...but avi2mve should still be able to understand the microsoft version when I encode it from VirtualDub2. That's cool, and is certainly one workaround (thanks for pointing it out!), but I'm hoping there's a way to skip this extra step. This is what I've been using, a video...

Fallout 2 utility Translating a mod?

Hey! Thanks for letting me know! I've added a link to this forum post to my video :) I showed the Notepad + Google translate method in my video, but your translate system looks very interesting. The guy I was talking to was in Chile, and wanted to do a Spanish translation for a mod...is there a...

    Fallout 2 utility avi2mve

You may be right, .mve may use the full 18 bits to store it's color information, it just doesn't match the results I'm getting...doesn't immediately matter though, I'll get back to you on this whenever I actually figure out how to directly convert to .mve :P but for now...I just got VirtualDub2...

    Fallout 2 color palette.

I know this is an older thread, but can you explain this? Does this mean that for some FRMs a different palette is used? Is there a way to take advantage of this to produce wildly different colors on death and help images?

    Fallout 2 utility avi2mve

Time for an in-depth technical breakdown of this conversation: "codecless" doesn't mean anything. Even raw video uses a codec. I used ffmpeg's built-in "rawvideo" codec, which ffprobe identified as the same codec used by avi2mve when converting from mve to avi. VLC identifies it as "araw"...

    Fallout 2 utility avi2mve

I've spent the last few weekends trying to get avi2mve from dobrovnik's archive (here) to work with an encode of my own arbitrary video. Unfortunately I can't seem to easily find any direct information on the types of encoding that avi2mve will accept, but using it to convert one of the original...
