What are some of your fondest/funniest memories and experiences with Fallout?

I find it hilarious that when playing a dumb character and choosing a boxing name, you can say "me Big Stu", and Stuart Little gets all mad about it.

Fallout 2 mod Unofficial Fo2 patch thread - problems, reports, suggestions

@Darek Thanks for the info the other thread. This I don't think is correct, though. For a dumb character, talking to Dumont, from what I remember, only had two responses, "Geck" and something else, which may have just been good bye. Geck just makes Dumont make a quip about "not being sick". He...

    Killap's Unofficial Fallout 2 Patch?

Doh, thanks for the right link. And @Darek, I will post in the other thread.

    Killap's Unofficial Fallout 2 Patch?

Here is another I just remembered. Had to double check it, too. In Vault City, there are two men inside the customs office. The one behind the inner door gives out the day passes, and as a dumb character, he will actually give you one if you remove your armor and show him the vault suit (though...

    Killap's Unofficial Fallout 2 Patch?

Is Killap still updating his patch, or is it a done deal now? Found a few bugs on my dumb playthrough. Basically, you can ask to see Tandi in NCR and the guy (Feargus?) will let you through the door, but Gunther won't let you in to see Tandi - the door is locked and he'll call the guards if...

    Fallout 2 Unarmed - Punch/Kick damage difference

I have zero evidence, and I might be incorrect from what I've just seen in the game... though that could be because of killap's restoration project; tested punch and kick for a good long while and noticed that they always, and only, did 1-3 damage, and never with knockback. I did it with...

    Fallout 2 Unarmed - Punch/Kick damage difference

    There's a whole list in there of what they do; Punch None Base damage 3 - Strong Punch Unarmed 55%, Agility 6 +3 3 - Hammer Punch Unarmed 75%, Agility 6, Strength 5, level 6 +5 3 +5% Haymaker Unarmed 100%, Agility 7, Strength 5, level 9 +7 3 +15% Secondary punch attacks Jab Unarmed...

Fallout 2 - well, this sounds like a crock...

That's probably it. After they tell everyone to meet back at the base, everything (scripts) just stops, and you can't even interact with the two enclave and two Salvatore guards; they just sit there and don't do anything (it gives a notice that "this is not a good time for conversation" or some...

Fallout 2 - well, this sounds like a crock...

Saw this on the Fallout wiki and it promptly made me think "wtf?"; If you walk unarmed past the guards and Enclave soldiers, you can inspect the Vertibird they landed in. You will have the chance to slip inside. If you do this, you are transported to their base, and you may be attacked or...

Whats worse- Fallout 1 and 2 elitists or Fallout 3 fanboy kids?

People should stop choosing sides and play games for what they're worth. It's the equivalent of saying you were a fan of a band before they made it big. The whole thing is just ridiculous, privileged people thinking they're better than everyone else for one reason or another. Ask yourself how...

[FO 1] When talking to a random trader game crashes

Interesting. I suppose the thing to do is just ignore the trader. And honestly, in all the games I've played, I have never run into a trader between the two locations. I don't think I've run into a trader anywhere on that side of the map.

    Fallout 2 Intelligence Checks?

Nevermind. I suppose I probably could have did a little searching before posting this. Found a bunch of discussions about it, and it seems like a lot of people run with high intelligence anyway, so I'm definitely not unique in that regard. For anyone who is interested, I settled with s7, p4, e8...

    Fallout 2 Intelligence Checks?

I normally play with high intelligence characters, but I'm looking at skimping a bit for a particular build and I'm wondering what would be a good amount to still be able to experience most related content - things like the jet cure (talking to Myron) and other science related stuff. I can't...

Rate the above song and post your own.

Never heard of those guys, but it reminds me of old 70's music (I could wiki them, but I'm lazy). It's not bad, but not really my style either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uPMhEWjFjSk

Vault: What would it look like if it was never used

I'd say there were quite a few "successful" vaults. 13 could be considered one... until they were forcefully evicted by the Enclave (out of their control). 101 was rather successful until your dope-of-a-dad caused a ruckus. LA vault was successful and not part of any tests, too. I'm sure...

Ok? There are also things like this; http://www.rjcyberware.com/DDO/ So... is there one or not?

    Character gen program?

Is there such a thing as a separate character gen program for Fallout 1/2? Something where I can just build characters?

Vault: What would it look like if it was never used

Vault City was one of the few vaults that wasn't abandoned shortly after opening. Technically, all of the vaults would be great starter points for a city. It really doesn't make any sense that most of the people would set off and leave them behind, unless there was a valid reason for doing so...

Vault: What would it look like if it was never used

What he said. Let's not forget that these are "games" and not exactly based on "reality". All super-natural or unlikely causes aside; in the real world, the most likely cause of failure would probably be the above example.
