    My personal favorites are the Q-35 Matter Modulator and the Plasma Defender. The former due to its reliability and damage and the latter because of Fallout 1.

    How about a mutated water strider that lives near ponds (obviously) and can poison you? They would only be a bit larger than a normal water strider so they'd be very weak to most attacks.
