That's the version that's discussed up above, it works fine for me on Windows 11 24h2. There isn't any other version. Maybe try running sfc /scannow for directx integrity https://www.ubackup.com/windows-10/sfc-scannow-windows-10-8523.html
Also check if you have it setup correctly, i.e. if the...
I looked at this and fores.exe does seem to work on Win98, it just complains when it tries to start a child process on "Fallout2" saying Fallout2.exe is missing... But, you can copy&rename Fallout2 (that's in Resurrection's folder) to Fallout2.exe (so you have Fallout2 and Fallout2.exe in Res...
Yeah, sorry for the delay on the update. I had distant family visiting over summer (mid-June to mid-September). But, in general, I'll try to keep up with sfall updates :)
You're dying because of your CHA going to zero. The stat check is however done inside a radiation check. It's fine to have stat zero as long as you're not irradiated. So it's the combination of those 2 that kills you. Get rid of the radiation with radaway/doctor. If you're not in time, then...
Updated to 4.3.3.1, but I decided to maintain via dropbox. Installation on win9x is a bit simplified, hex editing shenanigans are no longer necessary, it should now be the same as on winnt. Check the readme...
For Scale2x to work, in Fallout1in2\ddraw.ini set Mode=0 in the [Graphics] section. In Fallout1in2\f2_res.ini select GRAPHICS_MODE=2 for DirectX 9, so that the overlay works.
Then try copying "Fallout2HR.exe" from your regular FO2 to your Fallout1in2 directory and in steam change the startup steamdetour command to start with Fallout2HR.exe. Edit Fallout1in2\ddraw.ini and set HiResMode=0. Start the game through Steam and see if you can close the overlay with ESC.

Tried it on Et Tu and yes... I can't close it either when using the built-in HRP. With the old HRP 4.1.8 I can close it by pressing 'ESC'.
The last time I tried it on the original FO1 I don't remember having problems closing the overlay. There I used HRP 4.1.8 (obviously) too.
So try using...
The companion expansion mod includes Better Miria. I haven't tried it, but I think it should be compatible with RPU.

@Blacksun
Can you write and add in both winecfg overrides thing and the bottles override thing
ddraw
Just that single word, no quotes, no nothing else. And see if it works. If not, please post updated screenshots of bottles & winecfg.
Not on fallout2.exe. They might make some difference when running the game with Fallout2HR.exe. This still doesn't solve the problem with the ddraw override, but I don't now where exactly is the problem with your setup.
If in ddraw.ini you set in the [Debugging] section Enable=1 and then start the game, quit the game.... do you have an sfall-log.txt file in the fallout folder with the debug log? if so, can you post it on pastebin?
The command that I posted is different though. (different syntax on the variable)
If it doesn't work with the different syntax, you'll have to set it in winecfg.
Was sfall loaded in vanilla FO2? Or even vanilla fo2 was without sfall?
