You're right, but the potential loss of profit is an even larger motivator. Cutting out two thirds of their user base and making it exclusive to hardware that they're allegedly selling at a loss doesn't make a lot of sense and goes against their long term plans as a whole.

When they announced the One X they said there would be no exclusives, that all games would run across the entire family devices. So yeah, not gonna happen. They've also been pushing their play anywhere initiative with exclusives as well so if it's on Xbox, it's on PC.

X Box One X exclusives won't ever be a thing. If this thing did get made, it would probably be a play anywhere title so yay PC.
