Will we ever get to join the Enclave? Or otherwise explore their organization?

I usually make that argument, and I admit it's flawed. It's just that, you see what Bethesda managed to ruin without even going back in the timeline, and what they ruined after they did. I think my mind blocks the idea out to save me the suffering. Anyway, in any chronologically later games you...

    Fallout 4>this outdated site

Well, whe whole thing of nuclear power being so developed makes no sense if you take into account they still went to war because of oil. It is clear to me that nuclear power didn't have enough time to become as mainstream as Bethesda's Fallout portrays it, because if you have your industry, your...

I recently played the classics for the first time...

I had the opposite experience with Fallout 1 and 2 in terms of first play through difficulty. I found Fallout 2 easier in comparison. On later play throughs it inverted, but I believe that has a lot to do with being shorter (and thus, making myself able to learn more of the quirks of the game...

Serious Discussion: Why is this series attracting so many idiots?

I died inside a little. I hope you're happy. While it does make sense, it is not a must. You can have a company that keeps their employees and investors fed and happy, without going greedy and trying to appeal to necessarily most people. The term niche, which today is used pretty much as an...

Serious Discussion: Why is this series attracting so many idiots?

And all I am saying is you are completely right, but that it doesn't really follow the previous thread of ongoing discussion. The fact it isn't quite there yet is not a reason to dismiss the medium and just go along with mindless use of it and say "if you want depth, pick up a book". Maybe it...

Serious Discussion: Why is this series attracting so many idiots?

While all you said is true, it is also irrelevant to the argument. It was not an argument of reach or variety of the medium (for the same reason it has a wider reach, it has a wider variety), but about the quality of being a valid medium for artistic, philosophical, political or otherwise...

Regarding Librety Prime, I saw it appears again in the Fallout 4 ending. Boy, are Bethfans easy to satisfy...

Would you have supported renaming the Brahim if ..

Respect and worship are different things. I'm an atheist. I think Einstein was a great scientist and Mandela a great man, and I respect them. But as long as the use is not outright insulting (say, naming Mandela a chimpanzee would be an obvious racist slur, so that wouldn't be OK), I really...

Well, he got all of you talking, so as a troll, they are a success. Anyway, the way they troll makes me wonder if it is just a parody of bethfans. Would be really meta.

    A Single Bethesdaverse?

I forgive you, child, but only because of your age. It's OK to have weird dreams of youth, but please try to have fewer nightmares, would you?

    Why are battles so small?

Well, considering how most NPCs in battle are just meaningless fighters, you could parameterize how many of them you spawn for a particular fight and just increase or decrease the parameter depending on where you are playing.

    First Impression of Fallout 4

Well, the Avatar thing has a lot more to do with special effects than with story, AFAICT. At least in my circles nobody ever claimed it was original at all, we all saw it as sci-fi Pocahontas.

    Cabot House (SPOILERS)

Some of the changes were actually fitting in the "vanilla" mode. For example, finding a famous archeologist's remain in an old fridge ;)

So what lore has Bethesda done gone fucked up?

Maybe it's proportional to the time it takes for the new ghoul to forgive the fucker who nuked his/her home.

The dev team thinks of everything

The problem is that attention to details is not enough. If you want a good quality end product, you first focus on the big picture and then use the remaining time to polish details. The other way around you get something broken with little strokes of niceties that make you want the whole game to...
