    Comic books

Do you guys know anything about old comics? I have a small stack of horror, sci-fi, and war comics from the late 1970s. They're not in particularly good shape, of course.

    American Football (for noobs)

The funny thing is, football has the shortest playing season of any major sport in the U.S., but it also retains the most interest year-round. It might be the only sport where the business of running the franchises is almost as interesting as the game itself. In particular the NFL draft, where...

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

Yeah, hated that one. One of the most pretentious, self-absorbed movies I've ever seen. Plus, those siblings continue to rip things off from much better sci-fi (in this case, Soylent Green). A really strange movie is Videodrome, 1983 by David Cronenberg with James Woods...

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

I was thinking about Tarantino's movies again yesterday, and I didn't remember anyone mentioning True Romance from 1993. I don't think your Tarantino experience can be complete without seeing that one. Even though he didn't direct it, he wrote the script, and it's got all the recognizable...

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

It's been a few years since I saw that one, but as I recall it's a mixed bag. Some good and some bad. I think my favorite war movie is Kelly's Heroes with Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, Telly Savalas, and Don Rickles, among others. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065938/

    FO2 Mechanics Overhaul Mod

Methinks I'm going to try this out. Kudos. UPDATE: Heh...is it a common problem for The Chosen One to enter the Temple of Trials, attempt to punch an ant, and instead punch himself? All my attacks are against myself instead of my target, which is kind of funny but probably not intentional. I...

    I finally did it

Reminds me of the time I beat River Raid on my Atari 2600 as a kid. The score changed to all exclamation points, "!!!!!!!!!!" I took a photograph of the screen and mailed it to Activision because there was a special offer if you managed to beat the game. They sent me some stickers or...

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

I definitely enjoyed the part where the space ship climbs up through the clouds. That was cool. To be fair, Akratus did specify he was talking about Scott as a visual director. I think all of Scott's movies look really good. Oh, and you can't call yourself a Ridley Scott fan unless you've...

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

My favorite Ridley Scott movie that everyone forgets about is American Gangster. He's made a lot of different kinds of films over the years, for example Thelma & Louise. He's definitely not infallible, and he has a few stinkers to his credit (Robin Hood), but even the bad ones look good...

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

I just saw Gone Girl, and it was pretty good. Ben Affleck is Ben Affleck, but everyone else is pretty good. The story is merely okay, but it is entertaining. I've seen critics describing Gone Girl as a Hitchcockian thriller, and I think that's largely accurate. It would be easy to spoil the...

    Favorite Towns/Cities in RPGS?

I don't mind discussing it. I liked that town too when I played Diablo. I think what we're discussing is "towns" more than whether or not Diablo qualifies as a RPG.

    Favorite Towns/Cities in RPGS?

I guess it's a different discussion, but I wouldn't call Diablo a RPG. Still, I agree that Tristram is pretty good. Frankly I think it's by far the best part of the entire franchise. It has a sinister, on-the-brink-of-destruction feel to it.

Cool recommendations. I'll keep them in mind. I don't remember Android, but the IMDb page is pretty funny: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0083557/ I saw a great comedy/drama from 1960: The Apartment, with Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine. I haven't seen Mad Men, but it seems like this movie...

    R.I.P. Robin Williams

I just remembered one of my favorite Robin Williams movies: The World According to Garp. I've always liked that one.

    Favorite Towns/Cities in RPGS?

I like Tarant and Sigil as well. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Athkatla from Baldur's Gate 2. I'm not a huge BG fan, but that city was my favorite part of the whole BG1 and BG2 story. Fallout is tricky. I like the towns in those games for their character as much as their content. I...

The Ultimate Movie Thread of Ultimate Destiny

Not really. The entire concept of a fighting female heroine has been overdone to the point of losing it's meaning, which is the defninition of cliche. I actually typed up a detailed response, but for the 100th time, this wretched new message board managed to eat it before I could post, so...
