Adapting Van Buren (Workshop - Complete on Page 30)

Is there any plans to keep those of us here on No Mutants Allowed Dot Com updated with post-session reports once the game gets into full swing?

    Where's Society?

The Point Lookout hillbillies are the only faction by Bethesda that even somewhat makes sense, and of course nothing was done with that outside of maybe 3-5 lines of dialogue with NPCs and a bunch of new bulletspongey enemies that aren't even fun to fight.

Yeah I was thinking about it more today and that definitely seems like the kind of thing that would be covered in a prologue slideshow if this were part of a Fallout video game, your wrote everything out in a really informative and concise way in the PDF so honestly you probably just need a...

Possibly kind of include that as a prologue? Simply explain to the players that as captives in the Van Buren facility they already know this stuff? Alternatively you could handle this exposition through environmental stuff, such as mentioning an Uncle Sam poster that they see on a wall or...

Whats the backstory of your New Vegas Courier?

My last courier was a mercenary from some fringe prospector community up north, probably Idaho or Oregon, whose home was wiped out by tribal raiders when he was in his early teens. He steadily drifted south, rarely encountering the NCR beyond small interactions at the fringes until he made his...

I'm sure I missed out on the conversation regarding this but why the change regarding New Canaan's currency? I think that it would make sense for a settlement and culture that values trade to gravitate towards a more stable and universal currency like caps, at least in my opinion. I like the...

The Enclave is dead- but how would you guys feel about Enclave descendant factions?

My opinion about Enclave "spin-off" factions is that you can maybe get 1-2 good quests out of that concept per game at most, doing anything more than that just proves to everyone that you are lazy.

Yeah your best bet would just be pulling the Player aside and explaining that there's certain ramifications they need to keep in mind while making their new PC. And I totally understand the appeal of running a Hardcore campaign as a DM but from what I've found most players don't find the...

You could also frame new PCs as "companions" who are not linked to the prison facility at all but, for their own reasons, would not want to see it's terrors released upon the wasteland. This is something that could be handled relatively quickly through a quick talk with the Player during the...

It turns out that when your apartment complex paints over the only working coax outlet you have it's rather difficult for your internet company to connect to your router.

Absolute madman. That's a good question I honestly haven't really thought too much about this. I suppose I have a few ideas: David Small of stature and young, though he doesn't know his age definitively, and dressed in baggy prospector clothes a size too big for him. Born on the NCR...

I thought they were rather well done, and still respectful to the established lore regarding them. I particularly like the idea of them being split up into three different groups, it helps it make sense that a swath of land as large and filled with riches as Denver is only occupied by one group...

Ah so sorta like Dean Domino's monologue but, like you said, the opposite in terms of the kinds of emotions you are trying to convey. Now that I think about it that's more or less what The Survivalist did, though your story certainly has a somewhat more optimistic spin than his. Will the name...

Must have skimmed over it on accident, I didn't know how much I needed to catch up on so I was reading a little fast. Do you plan on introducing her and explaining her whole deal prior to this meeting or is she intended to be the vessel that kind of conveys her whole story?

I really like how you have replaced the NCR salvagers with other factions which would make more sense within this context, are there any plans to hint at the fate of Minnesota when the PCs speak to the Truecoat Salvagers?

Wow! I missed so much. Sorry for the radio silence I have been undergoing a move and we don't have internet set up at the new apartment yet so I'm forced to rely on a local coffee shop whose hours don't line up with my schedule like at all. But I'm here now and I'm going to try and get all...
