Anyone Else think Shoddycast has become a Bethesda Bum-licking channel?

Shoddycast are very hit-and-miss for me. I haven't really watched any of their lore videos (especially not the Fallout 3 and 4 ones) but that's mostly because they'd just be repeating stuff at me that I already knew. I like some of their 'science' videos wherein the speculate on the physics of...

    Best Fallout game

No, it doesn't. I think it's a bug, but as far as I'm aware I'm the only one to have ever experienced it.

    Anyone into Dr Who?

Hoh, boy. Yeah, I was a big fan. I've watched pretty much every episode of the series and I've read a lot of the books; if it's an obscure piece of lore, chances are I know about it. In my humble opinion as a major whophile, Classic Who was better for the most part. Eccleston was mostly good...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I bought Hyperlight Drifter during the sale and so far I can say with utmost confidence that it is basically okay. It's very pretty and I enjoy the exploration aspect; the combat reminds me of Dark Souls, insofar that it's more about bashing your head against the wall until one or the other...

    This is extremely disappointing...

It was just as quirky as everything else in the game, but I appreciated that they didn't put in some ridiculous villain for you to fight. Not in the vanilla game, anyway.

    Best Fallout game

I never really had a problem with the Deathclaws in Fallout 1. I'd finished Tactics and I remembered them as being melee-focused, so when I went hunting for the first one I was prepared for the most part (Ian also made a very convenient meat shield). By the time I found the ones in the...

Why can't Bethesda fans see the forest for the trees?

Yeah, too bad the Prydwen was built over a good ten years in Adam's Airforce Base out of what technology the Brotherhood could scavenge.

Why can't Bethesda fans see the forest for the trees?

I was under the impression that both Moriarity and Tenpenny were recent migrants. I remember a Scottish guy in one of classic Fallouts (I think he was with the Blades) and he explains that he's just trying to keep his heritage alive, rather than actually being Scottish.

The Steam Summer Sale starts this Thursday (probably)

That's basically what I didn't like about the game in a nutshell, which is a shame because it's got really good art design and a solid concept behind it. If they'd actually bothered to make it challenging rather than just random, I would've seen it through to the end.

Why can't Bethesda fans see the forest for the trees?

Well, let's take a look at them: Piper, Nick, McCready, Deacon and Danse's backstories all revolve around a murdered loved one; Piper, McReady, Hancock, Codsworth and Cait's backstories revolve around family; Preston, Deacon, McReady and Cait revolve around betrayal while Strong, X6-88 and...

Official Canon V. Your Personal Fanon

It was a computer that made predictions; the real leader was arguably Ken Lee, its 'advisor', who gave out orders based on what the Emperor would predict. It was a very interesting model of leadership, really.

Why can't Bethesda fans see the forest for the trees?

Giving it a shot; I picked my favourite companions from New Vegas and FO4, respectively. This companion is often sarcastic and cynical, but deep down they're just old and tired. Despite their often passive-aggressive comments they seem to genuinely like the player's company, often showing...

    Best Fallout game

    >inb4 >fag We 4chan now? You'd have to be more specific, but a few of my friends just can't get into it simply because of the mechanics (though considering how far you've gotten I doubt that's the problem). Unless it's something to do with your character build, there's not much people can do...

The Steam Summer Sale starts this Thursday (probably)

Can't say I'm seeing anything I'm crazy about so far and I'm trying to keep a low budget. That said, I am interested in a few indie games and have bought 'The Room' and 'Hyperlight Drifter', though I've heard neither of them is particularly long. My laptop also has the processing power of a...

Why can't Bethesda fans see the forest for the trees?

Though Shakespeare did write that, it's like attributing any of Gollum's lines to Tolkien. He didn't actually say it. The line is spoken by Polonius, who you'll remember is the stupidest character in Hamlet by a mile. Add the fact that both Hamlet and Shakespeare weren't known for being...

    EU referendum: Leave Vote

Scotland's likely to have a second referendum unless Boris works some sort of miracle and it's not entirely unfeasible for NI to have one too (though it's unlikely they'll vote to leave). Wales actually had a majority Leave vote, but a lot of areas in London wanted to remain and are now...

    EU referendum: Leave Vote

Don't be fooled; "Independence Day" is nationalist nonsense used to rile the masses. The main arguments against the EU are that it wasn't and was not going to be a political union back when the UK joined in and the labyrinthian bureaucracy which indefinitely delays various processes regardless...

    What would you do?

It probably depends on time, location and what my skills are. I'm only proficient in university-level psychology, writing and occasionally drawing when the stars align, so I wouldn't be too terribly useful. That said, as any random shmuck I wouldn't possess the knowledge I do now about the...
