Metal Gear Solid V: The Visible Boob

Some good musings on the issue: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/jimquisition/7290-Objectification-And-Men Basically, it's objectification vs idealization. Though I do also agree that feminists as a group have long moved beyond the point of equality in the things they promote...

Which 3 of these games should I get?

Haven't tried the rest, but DXHR is very much worth it.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Wouldn't compare it to TF, as TF2 is different enough gameplay-wise from the long-forgotten original mod. In any case, as long as they're not charging for it, it's fine to make what is essentially a graphic/engine upgrade.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

So, out of boredom, desperation, disappointment with modern RPGs, and god knows what else I've decided to reinstall Bioware's original NWN. Figured I'd give the OC another shot since I never actually completed it and usually skipped to the far superior addons. Well, I was really surprised to...

    PV13

Give us money now, and maybe we'll do something with it. Really now. Also the backer bonuses are facepalm-worthy: Charging for forum access? Unbelievable.

Wasteland 2 Screenshot: Lizards, lizards, lizards

IIRC, unarmed civilians DO run away in FO 1/2? :? It's just sometimes they can't make it

Question is, are the lizards alcoholic?

Rock, Paper, Shotgun previews Wasteland 2

Haven't been following the development closely, but the previews look very promising so far. I do wonder how the skills work though, they almost make it sound like it's something you obtain once rather than upgrade systematically. Makes me wonder how all this will work.

    Shadowrun returns (on kickstarter)

This reminds me of another issue with the game - inability to switch between combat and non-combat mode at will. Hopefully it IS remembered, and the lessons learned will improve the Kickstarter system. This is a big marketing pitch for them, but so far I'm not really seeing hordes of fans...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I think LoL is better for "casually unwinding". I also personally like the new mechanics LoL introduced which DotA lacked and DotA2 didn't introduce.

    Shadowrun Returns released

For now the ones being "advertized" are Lost Lamb and Life on a Limb. The first one is not bad and designed similar to the OC. Short and unfinished, though. The second is trying to be more of a traditional RPG but is obviously constantly pushing engine limitations: - graphical glitches...

    Shadowrun Returns released

I think the game's a huge waste of potential, excused only (partially) by the low price tag. It's not BAD, but... Hopefully the other Kickstarter high-rollers don't end up this half-assed.

    Shadowrun returns (on kickstarter)

Yeah, I think I'll wait to see what the modding scene looks like and maybe pick it up later. Read a bunch of reviews, all of which peg it as a fun but flawed game. I don't really buy the "it's got an editor!" argument though, not until we see the first mods. Especially since, from what I...

    Shadowrun returns (on kickstarter)

Hm, I expected it to be nonlinear for some reason. If it's on rails, then checkpoints make complete sense. One more reason to not bother with this one, though.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Oh, Witcher 2. Your boss fights are still every bit as annoying and stupid as I remember them. I wonder, what is it with RPGs recently, doing everything right but fucking up the bosses?

Just noticed - checkpoint system? What the flying..?

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Replaying Witcher 2, this time as EE. Chickened out of Dark Mode though, playing on normal :)

People may be stupid and easy to manipulate, but I doubt that most are also creative enough to initiate something like that.

Any Halo fans here? no? well here is a Halo thread anyway.

SS is focused on humor rather than linear story-telling in the writing department, so it's a bit of a poor comparison. Additionally, the game has WAY WAY superior level design and combat compared to anything I've ever seen in the Halo series (played 1CE, Reach and a bit of 3). I also think that...

Lord British Presents: Shroud of the Avatar

...which was, frankly, rather tedious. Watched the demo, doesn't look like anything great, tbh.
