Abandoned hundred Russian Army tanks found near Ural

Not necessarily. If it's too rusted you won't be able to use it, ever again. There are engineering standards, you know. War isn't touch and go, not even for the Russians. This is a tank boneyard, and it's all scrap metal. If they ever wanted to re-use everything, they wouldn't have put it...

    Metro 2033

Every once in a while a game comes along that prompts me to either upgrade or buy a new PC. If this is good it might be it. I'll obviously wait a few months until it's properly patched, though. Let's hope they make it mod-friendly. I really like the minimal hud idea.

Abandoned hundred Russian Army tanks found near Ural

They're probably too old and rusty to work properly. Scrap metal.

    Metro 2033

Seriously, do you have to argue against absolutely everything in every game thread? I get it that you don't like STALKER, so don't play this game, because it will probably resemble it a lot. Back on topic: I read in the wiki article that you don't have any meters at all in the HUD (I'll...

    Metro 2033

Judging from the Wikipedia article, it'll be a sandbox game with an inventory, with minimal HUD. Probably much like STALKER was intended. Looking forward to this one. With linearity I meant of the railshooter kind. In reality, all games are linear to some degree.

    Metro 2033

I like "FedEx" quests that have unforeseen events. So they're not boring in principle, just in certain applications. An inventory adds item management, hence "FedEx" quests that can be stacked up and resolved in any order. I'm not saying a game has to be linear because it lacks an...

    Metro 2033

It allows for a lot of things. Quests with rewards, for instance. Some kind of minimal non-linear progression.

    Metro 2033

The STALKER series are great games, and they count amongst my favourites. If this is a Half-Life type shooter, I'll be disappointed. I expect at least an inventory, and equipment modification. I do agree, however, that a character development part, with XP points, doesn't fit into an FPS...

    Metro 2033

I really don't see how you can compare it to Fallout 3. To me, it's a high-budget railshooter version of STALKER. It's probably going to be great.

Harsh winter fucks up Swedish transportation

Pride over having paved roads belongs to Africa. And besides, your buses don't have to transport some 2 million people daily.

Harsh winter fucks up Swedish transportation

There is no infrastructure in northern Sweden, though. And you can't say you have good trains, they're slower than cars.

    Stalker: Call of Pripyat

Yeah, I guess you have to compare the budget to other Eastern European developers, and then look at how the game is in Russia. I would also be interested in the budget. Tagaziel, that's a UAV, not a UFO. It's actually a semi-hidden mission you'll get if you explore the map thoroughly. The...

Harsh winter fucks up Swedish transportation

Argh! The point wasn't the fucking 8 minutes! It was the three-bus convoy that had just left. And seriously, Poland? Don't compare. I'm sick of people who whine about people who whine. Why don't I compare Stockhom's transportation issues to Mogadishu's, then? I guess that's fair, despire...

    Stalker: Call of Pripyat

There's always Owl if you need to sell documents. I'm almost at the end now! Raiding the apartment buildings in Pripyat is unbelievably creepy. As someone said, it's the first time in a game I try to avoid being outside at night, and try to get into a saferoom before 10 pm. The things that...

Harsh winter fucks up Swedish transportation

Hahahahaha! No... We've had the same government almost continuously for over 50 years. As I said before, the Left is blaming the Right for this, even though they've been in charge for so long. Building infrastructure takes time, usually more time than a political term. So why would anyone...

Harsh winter fucks up Swedish transportation

Apparently the cops have started organizing bus boardings, because people are fighting over available seats.

Harsh winter fucks up Swedish transportation

Yes, but at least you know when they go, so you can plan ahead. As it is now the average waiting time is "it shows up when it does".

And as usual, the ones who are really responsible for this will go unpunished. http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulf_Adelsohn http://www.sj.se/content/1/c6/03/34/15/JanForsberg300_2.jpg We should have a Gulag system up north for incompetent tumors such as these.

Harsh winter fucks up Swedish transportation

Yeah, and 25 minutes for a subway train. Didn't even bother waiting for a bus this evening. Way too fucking cold. It's not the 8 minutes that bothered me (despite having a class to go to). It's the fact that 3 buses stuck together in a fucking convoy, like they were afraid of U boat attacks...
