If the game crashes here and there, the lack of reliability will push people away from playing the mod. Talking for me, i wouldn't like be playing for an hour and some crash or bug pops up screwing all my gaming hour. In the end is indeed your mod and you put what you like and do what you want...

My two cents: do what you're good at, graphic modeling, and leave the cutting stuff to someone else. Eventually some will do it. Since it consumes a shitload of time and your motivation is best to split the work and keep you motivated to do scenery/models and someone will eventually get it...
