Tim Cain interview on Matt Chat, part 2

Then what is it? Now, the inherent problem with Hybrids like this is thus; "Jack of all trades, master of none". The majority of games like this can't pull off multiple aspects succesfully. As far as i can see, Fallout 3 is a FPS/RPG Hybrid and has notable deficiency's in both the FPS and RPG...

Tim Cain interview on Matt Chat, part 2

So, if you got a FPS where all you did was race a rally car, would you say its a FPS that's "Different than what came before"? Being different from what came before is fine, but every genre has a certain aspect that's pertinent to it. A FPS requires gunplay, racing games require racing, etc...

The great feeling of new hardware

@ PainlessDocM and aenemic It might just be me, but i found overclocking is a LOT of fun. Cash out 60 or 70 Bucks for a good aftermarket cooler and its as enjoyable as building a system.

I mean large folders. SSD's are one of those things you don't think anything of until you use one.

Tim Cain interview on Matt Chat, part 2

Hes perfectly entitled to his opinion and allowed to state it. What will get him a retort is the fact he listed absolutely no improvements and didn't back up his opinion.

Ok so we'll have all these new plasma weapons...

Sorry, it wasn't intended that way =( Also, for what it's worth a wireless mouse at least kicks ass. Really easy to kick back and relax with one.

I can't stand controllers. Especially the joysticks. Oh the joysticks. There's a reason for that. We KNOW our platform is better ;)

    Question about the Megaton Bomb?

I never said they had the same impact force. I mean the principle is the same, regardless of size and speed. My exact wording is "The kinetic energy from that bomb at terminal velocity would certainly put an impact crater of that size in the ground." I refer not to a meteor crater, but...

    Question about the Megaton Bomb?

Yeah, but its something along the lines of "Pick your inconsistency" There's so many thing's wrong with the bomb being there you kinda have to grab the least unreasonable and run with it. Yay for a consistent and believable game world.

    Question about the Megaton Bomb?

Again, Just another inconsistency within FO3. Something of that size and weight could easily punch a fairly big hole.

    Question about the Megaton Bomb?

How does a meteor leave a crater? The kinetic energy from that bomb at terminal velocity would certainly put an impact crater of that size in the ground. Just another inconsistency within FO3

The great feeling of new hardware

Again, you use them with each other. Not replacing each other. They're used for different things, so you use both at once. Think RAM and graphics card. Two completely different chips used in conjunction to facilitate a enjoyable user experience. Besides, modern solid states have a really high...

The great feeling of new hardware

They're not suitable for storage and such man. Your mechanical drive's are where you keep all your movies and game installs. The SSD simply stores operating systems, drivers and other small programs. If your using them to replace a mechanical drive, your using it wrong.

The great feeling of new hardware

Everything is just smooth. Aside from booting and shutting down in about 2 - 3 seconds max, there's no half a second delay when you open a folder, Firefox opens instantly (As well as any other program installed to it). Folders on the SSD load instantly, rather than having to wait for the list to...

The great feeling of new hardware

64GB Solid State HD. Easily the best 250 bucks i've sunk into my PC. Don't install games to it, but for general PC usage and such i can't live without it. Everything is smooth and boots/shuts down fast. I've never used such a responsive computer before.

Competitive Gaming: My Experiences and Share Yours

I used to scrim CS Competitively when i was younger, which was actually my introduction to competitive gaming. At the time i was 13 or 14 i think, but i could play fairly well. The team i was in played for fun more than anything, so we didn't win any tournament's or ladders, but we came close a...

Bethesda vs Interplay on Fallout Online

You know what you could do. Free and open PvP (Aside from in towns and shit. I realize its not really "Open" But you NEED a safe spot) Now, have peoples actions give them a reputation. For example, if you ganked new players or raided traveling merchants, good people (NCR Rangers, Vault...
