Why Fallout 3 is not as bad as most people on this forum think

"Fallout" 3 as a Fallout game is, quite plainly, crap. Passing that crap through a sieve and coming up with a few undigested peanuts does not change that. They'll still end up smelling like feces. It's fine to like playing the game. But to say that Bethesda's take on the setting is "in line"...

How fallout 3 might actually be plausible.

Possible? That is not what you asked. Much of the Fallout setting can be argued to be not likely, parts of it downright impossible. However, FNV is plausible in that what happens in the game fits into and follows the rules of a setting: it makes sense in the world that has been created and...

"How fallout 3 might actually be plausible." lol.

    What is your favorite part

My favorite part was when the writing was nothing like Bethesda's.

How do I enable New Vegas Uncut?

Sounds like you extracted the files into the incorrect folder, actually. If the esp file does not show up in the data files list, it's not in the data folder. So, the sound folder of that particular mod should be added to the data folder (so you now have a Data\sound path) and the esp into the...

A New Vegas recommended mod listing.

I'm not sure, depends on quest states in progress I guess. It's a very new mod so I havent tried it for hours yet, but it sets out to do what I was missing thus far in similar mods - just fixing the bugs and nothing else. Still testing it myself, but I did start a new game with YUP running.

Even that version of Mission Mojave does make changes that are no longer just fixing bugs. YUP as far as I can tell does not.

Would also like to add this one to the list: Yukichigai's Unofficial Patch http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/51664//? A bugfix mod that just fixes the bugs, and doesn't add content or alter what is already implemented in the game like Mission Mojave does unfortunately.

A New Vegas recommended mod listing.

Just trying a new playthrough with the mods mentioned in the first post. Anyone here know if the Mission Mojave mod is compatible with Freeside Open and the Open Strip? I can't find information on this.

Thanks for making this list, there's some real interesting mods in there that I'm definately trying out on my next playthrough!

Does anyone remember ANY Fallout 3 characters?

To me, the writing was so poor and the characters so uninteresting I honestly can't remember a single one of them. It's been about five years though since I played "Fallout" 3 that one time. Didn't get very far either before I just had to uninstall it.

Fallout 4 rumors of sort & other Fallout tidbits

I just hope it won't be set in the West. After seeing Skyrim I have low expectations for "Fallout" 4 anyway, so it won't bother me if it's set in the Capitol Wasteland or somewhere close.

Whats the one quest you remember from Fallout 1-2?

Fallout 1: The Glow and the joining of the Brotherhood. I had to get me some Power Armor once I saw it. Fallout 2: Nothing comes to mind in particular. Maybe Navarro, because of Dornan's speech.

Why do people prefer Fallout 2 over Fallout 1?

I've always liked Fallout 1 better as a whole. The story, atmosphere, and locations seemed more consistent than they were in 2 to me. On many other fronts Fallout 2 was arguably better, but the best memories are from 1 for me.

    Signature Weapon

I tend to rely on the plasma caster mostly. Good damage and its a nice tribute to the Fallout 2 counterparts as others already mentioned.

    Plasma or Laser

Prefer plasma for the higher damage per shot it gets.

    Lonesome Road endings: reputation bonuses

Thanks for the replies. Well, that makes sense. I'm also guessing there are more active silos the Brotherhood would want control over, Yamu, not sure if it is explained in LR..

    Lonesome Road endings: reputation bonuses

Hiya, long time lurker and now first time poster here. I've been replaying FNV a while ago, this time with all the DLCs installed. The reputation bonuses for some of the endings of Lonesome Road left me wondering: According to the wiki, if you decide to disable the launch, the Followers...
