Does it matter what it's called? The next Half Life game will continue on from Episode 2 and hopefully wrap up the battle with the combine for good. Whether it's called Episode 3 or Half Life 3 is irrelevant, though whatever it is I suspect it will be at least a 20 hour game.

That's how it feels to me. Partly because of how long it's taken, but also looking at where Episode 2 left us. Could they really have tied up every loose end in a 5 hour game?

To me it feels like the only reason Valve connected the Half Life and Portal universe together is that they weren't sure if Portal would be able to stand up as an IP all on it's own. That and they used a lot of bits and pieces from the Half Life games to make Portal to cut down on costs, so it...

The problem with connecting the world in this new game is the time difference. Portal 2 is not yet years or decades after Portal, but centurys. So any sight of the outside world could potentially be a massive spoiler for Episode 3...Or then again it could be a very interesting story element...

I find it hard to believe anyone who picked up Portal didn't finish it. I played though the whole thing again when I heard this news. It took me just over 2 hours. Your missing out. Spend an afternoon on it, your won't regret it. Brilliant ending.

I was under the impression the NCR and CL only arrived recently, and Hoover Dam must have been in operation before then. Maybe it's owned by some sort of gang that charges the locals for power? In that case there would have be some sort of reason why they haven't been taken out yet. Or...

So...who's in control of Hoover Dam when the game begins? I have no idea if that's a NCR flag or what.

Fallout 3 is definitely an improvement to Oblivion graphically. The difference is that the Soarce engine is just better. It was made almost a decade ago and is only just starting to show it's age.
