Megan is missing, Or why I will not sleep tonight.

I really liked this movie actually, because it's got a chilling realism to it that can actually GET THROUGH to the mindless and careless teenage girls everywhere. I believe that many teenage girls would benefit from seeing this film, and it may act as a preventative measure toward future...

Multiplayer:Killing us slowly or best thing ever?

COD4 is when it peaked. I still have some hopes for MW3 in that regard. COD5 Stalingrad level was poignant, too. I had strong emotional feedback to it. There's great potential in exploiting the andrenaline rush factor of first-person linear storytelling in these games, but they've been...

Multiplayer:Killing us slowly or best thing ever?

I have no idea why most games have to ship w/multiplayer. Most of them suck, and/or are the carbon copies of their predecessors. I do love co-op though. My greatest coop experiences were passing Duke3D: Atomic Edition, passing Quake 2, and passing Gears of War PC (yes, the game was clearly...

    The Official Martial Arts Thread

The deeper side of martial arts is all but ignored in the West. Maybe in the East too, I don't know, but a lot of the deeper stuff originated there, at least. Most people discard the film "Karate Kid" (original) as a funny 80's nostalgia flick with bad fighting sequences, but it is actually...

    Yakov's Fallout 4 idea.

I ran it thru Word's autosummarize feature, shrinking down to 10%:

    Terra Nova

After 30 minutes I've seen enough and quit. It's like it was a 14-year-old's first project. Nauseatingly horrible.

What would make Fallout 4 a really good game??

There's not going to be a good Fallout game anymore. The setting ran itself into the ground to the point where it is spread thin, generic, lulzy and yet mind-numbingly mediocre. There can be good games utilizing Fallout design, however.

    NMA was hacked

He truly sounds like a person of integrity and control and I completely trust him not to sell the private information he stole. Oh wait.

    Anyone here watch Falling Skies?

Comparing Firefly to the likes of V, BSG, and Falling Skies?

    Google+ goes public

I tried it in beta, it was very clunky and counterintuitive all around. Quite an abortion, like some sort of a graduate student project. If you have patience for being a guinea pig for that sort of crap, and for reconstructing your friend list from scratch for no truly compelling reason...

How would you reboot an existing franchise into a new genre?

Games are most often a combination of narrative and gameplay mechanics, and in 99% cases, the narrative is supplementary, and gameplay mechanics are the CORE. As result, the game becomes famous mostly because of its gameplay mechanics. Y'know, because "gameplay" has "game" and "play" in it...

NMA Fallout: New Vegas Lonesome Road Review

It's always refreshing to read a review written by someone with a brain. These are such a rarity in the industry now.

'tis true! However I'm keeping it on the down-low until Monsterland is finished and I can get back to advancing Shelter.

Rude awakening: Why Fallout: New Vegas felt incomplete

It's not a question of "whether" Fallout 1 did the same thing, but a question of HOW. Fallout 1 was created with knowledge of storytelling. You were told to go to Vault 15, but "accidentally" stumbled upon Shady Sands, and though it was really no accident, the player was made to feel like it...
