Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Actually, fallout2.exe creates those empty directories, not necessarily the installers. If the directory in fallout2.cfg is wrong and does not exist (such as sound\music), fallout2.exe creates them. You can easily test this yourself if you edit the file and write a bogus directory.

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

The problem seems to be that fallout2.exe creates the fallout2.cfg file if it does not exist, and for some reason the default location for music is "sound\music\", and not "data\sound\music" as it should be. If the fallout2.exe could be modified to write that directory instead of the wrong one...

    Weapon Jamming

But new weapons have certainly been made since the apocalypse, in all kinds of weapon shops. In fact, even in Fallout 1 you could meet someone who could cast bullets, and modify weapons. You need a weapon smith for that. And no one would go to a battle if they did not trust their weapons. And...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Could you put your current fixes somewhere, for example, in some kind of temporary folder in your site? That way, an ongoing game could use those fixes. This would be especially useful if a player has not yet been in those locations, since the fixes won't take effect unless it's the first time...

    Weapon Jamming

Firearms are very reliable these days. Jams are rare, although they can occur if the weapon is poorly maintained (not cleaned, or sand is allowed to get inside the gun etc), or if the user handles the weapon poorly (like I have done ;)). We can assume the Chosen One takes care of his/her...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Oh, you mean, timelimit to find the waterchip? I think it is either of these: DAYS_TO_VAULT13_DISCOVERY :=180; // (9) // How long before the vault is discovered? VAULT_WATER :=150; // (10) // How long for the water supply :=0; // (see below) The...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

If you have installed the official Fallout 1 patch, then the mutant invasion timelimit is already removed. In the original version, mutants invade the vault in 500 days, but no more in the patched version. If you mean other invasion timelimits, such as mutants invading the necropolis, you can...

Fallout 2 mod Fallout 2: Weapons Redone v2.3

Any estimate when this will be compatible with the newest RP 2.1? I just don't feel like playing that mod until I can use this mod with it :).

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.0 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

He's not always that easy. You just got a very lucky critical hit. Instant kill critical means that regardless of the damage inflicted, the target dies instantly. They don't happen very often, high Luck, Better criticals -perk and high weapon skill helps. If I recall, the rat god was...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.0 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Check your fallout2.cfg file, which is in the same directory as fallout2.exe is. The config file should have two lines similar to this: music_path1=data\sound\music\ music_path2=data\sound\music\ Sometimes those are not correct. It happens if you have deleted fallout2.cfg or if you are...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.0 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

This reminds me of a small bug in the installer. When selecting what kind of installation you wish to install, default is Full and you can select minimal or custom. If you do that, and select "Full installation" again, none of the tick boxes will be selected, meaning that all selections are...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.0 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

I recommend that you install the Restoration project 2.0 (or 2.1 when it arrives), not the unofficial patch. And all the additions, except perhaps the 14mm gun sound. RP is very good and the additions fit seamlessly into the game. The bugs are quickly fixed, and don't really bother that much...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.0 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

You shouldn't install the unofficial patch if you also install the restoration project. RP already includes the unofficial patch. This could be the cause of your problems.

The quest has always been like that, even in vanilla. It will appear and be crossed out in your quest list after you kill the rat.

No, you are not using the most recent version of DirectX 9. Try this program: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en February 2010 directx 9 runtimes. Your error message hints that you do not have that installed...

Actually, there appears to be a version of the unofficial patch for Mac. Not for Restoration project though, as is stated on the wiki. Here is the link: http://www.killap.net/fallout2/patches/Killap.unofficialFO2patch-Mac.rar

Couple of very small things I've noticed: Arroyo: 1. A shelf in Aunt Morlis' hut is no longer accessible, there is a pot in front of it, or possibly the rug prevents access. 2. Also, in a hut next to the well, there is a shelf which is unaccessible due to a pot. 3. Same thing...

Perhaps this is intentional, if you mean that he joins while in Metzgers' apartment. Who would not leave with somewhat uncharismatic person, if the alternative was to stay and hang around in a slaver gangs' hideout? :)

That is left shift. I noticed it by accident during the game, and man, that is a good feature!
