VD, have you met/beaten Drizzt on your playthrough ? And do not worry so much, there is less free roaming in BG2 but on the other hand locations are less empty than some forest locations with wolves etc in BG1. Also, if you want to play the whole saga with one char, BG TUTU is a very good mod...
