What all can be manufactured in the Fallout world?

It depends on where you take your source materials from, since Classic Fallout seemed to be much more advanced in both technology and society, than Bethesda's Fallout-Doom which was basically stuck in 1955.

Fallout 1 and 2 Really Aren't That Morally Grey

The problem with being shoehorned into being good or evil was fairly evident in Fallout 2, since by the time you hit the Den, your character had to make a pretty quick choice of whether they wanted to play a moralistic hero or an evil bastard, since if you join the Slaver's Guild your whole game...

If bethesda didnt have the fallout license

Had Troika bought the Fallout Franchise, we'd have seen a very well written product which relied more upon story telling than Fallout-Doom (see Bethesda's Fallout 3), or perhaps Troika's Fallout 3 would have resembled Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines which though buggy, would have made an...

How would power armor change warfare realistically- rant/discussion

"Power Armor" at least as applied in the original Fallout Chronology, would in effect be issued to mechanized infantry battalions (Van Buren, if memory serves me correctly), and in effect an battalion, or possibly even brigade sized element would effectively be able to defend against Chinese...

T-51B and the Anti Materiel Rifle

Speaking of Power Armor as it relates to fighting against armored vehicles, does anyone recall if the modified Sherman from Fallout:Tactics was able to stand up against Midwestern Brotherhood Power Armor?

T-51B and the Anti Materiel Rifle

If I remember correctly and it's been a while, but in Fallout 2 there was a .50 BMG rifle and it was effective against everything except Power Armor. Actually I do think that Fallout: NV made Power Armor more of a clothing option than an actual viable protective system.

Which states or cities would make good locations for a future Fallout game

The remains of West and East Berlin would be an interesting sight. A massive tank graveyard with the rotting hulks of the Berlin Brigade on one side, and the Soviet Army on the other, all while avoiding Ghoulified East German Border Guards still defending the ruins of the now ruined Berlin Wall.

Is it possible to build a Fallout Vault with today's technology?

However installations such as Cheyenne Mountain are not designed to support long term survival of numerous generations, but rather are hardened installations which are meant to survive an atomic exchange.

There is still a little bit hope for Fallout 4... right?

Most of those interviews show how juvenile the staff at Bethesda/Zenimax are and that how they think that having "mature" and "dark" content is about psychopathic violence and that being able to brutalize someone who you just killed is somehow "adult". This attitude by the Bethesda/Zenimax...

I want to hear ideas for new factions/organizations

A statewide idea: The Boomer-Sooner Land War: As the NCR pushes farther into the Wasteland of the Former United States, the inhabitants of the many small towns of the former State of Oklahoma conflict arises as the NCR makes territorial claims on already occupied lands. The Boomer Republic: A...

    Your Favorite Companions

Though FNV did a great job at creating a very vast if somewhat odd assortment of followers, I'd have to say that Veronica was probably the best of the bunch. Not so much due to her skills, but the fact that she seemed to be the most fleshed out of the bunch in terms of dialogue outside of normal...

The misunderstanding that is the "Enclave"

It just speaks to the fact about lack of consistency in the series between Fallout 1, 2 etc. Also, considering that cut-content, Van Buren and the "Bibles" are all used as source information for events in Fallout further indicates the lack of any actual consistency in the game.

    fallout 4 possibility

This is really quite an awful idea, which totally detracts from every aspect of Fallout and plus the United States suffered a nuclear war, it did not descend back into the stone age. Also, considering the Vaults had firearms and at least a degree of equipment available to survive in the post...

The misunderstanding that is the "Enclave"

The irony of relying upon the "Fallout Bibles", J.E. Sawyer and the like to establish Fallout Canon is a little foolish as Leonard Boyarsky is credited as being the man behind the Fallout Universe(inspired as it was by Wasteland), and having only worked on the initial design for Fallout 2, like...

The misunderstanding that is the "Enclave"

Now first off, let me state that for all intents and purposes the reasoning behind this thread is to discuss some of the strange plot holes that relate to the former United States Government faction, and hopefully not to get overrun by the fanatical fan base who salivate at the mere mention of...

Fanatic for the Enclave - Glory to the Enclave

I'm not aware of anyone who in any way, shape or form takes Fallout or any other video game as if they were real. Those who do, evidently are suffering from some sort of condition, or don't understand the difference between fantasy and reality, and therefore should seek some form of professional...

Fanatic for the Enclave - Glory to the Enclave

So the more this thread goes on, the more I can't help but think we're either getting a front row seat to seeing a rather strange internet poster have a mental or nervous breakdown, because he cannot handle a fictional organization being criticized. Also, what's with the almost political fervor...

    Your least hated Fo3 quests.

The atomic bomb quest was an interesting idea, but due to the fact that it was so easy to complete and the reasons for destroying the town were never explained beyond deranged millionaire is tired of eyesore which is town made of junk. It felt like there was a good idea hidden in there...

Arabic peoples and communities in the Fallout universe?

I would say depending on what US relations were like with the Arab Union(I think was the omnibus superpower) following the end of the Resource Wars against the European Commonwealth would dictate Arab immigration/entry into the United States.

    No More Level Caps

A possible solution to all this could be to give the player two options when he starts the game. The first option would be to simply allow the player to select a cap, whether that be level 1 or no cap or something in between. The second option would be that the character you create would be...
