    The Guns and Ammo Thread

It may just be me, but I always hate it when I see a thread that says "guns" and then decides to discuss small arms rather than gunnery(both land based and naval). Just more a nitpick than anything else, but the thread should be Small Arms and Ammo, unless of course we're going to start...

Shouldn't have Broken Steel been about the reunification of the Brotherhood of Steel?

Rather it would have been interesting to be able to assist the actual BOS (aka Outcasts) in taking out Lyon's "Outcasts". Also due to Bethesda's rather poor, if not inept writing, since they could barely come up with a sensible and entertaining narrative for Fallout 3, I would be shocked if they...

    Russian-Ukrainian war

The difference is, we could wholly use limited force against the Soviets just to point out that we in the West will not put up with illegal Russian aggression. After all, this isn't "The Great Game" anymore, and we shouldn't simply just play up, but instead actively oppose Russian expansionism...

    Rank the DLC's

Dead Money was leaps and bounds above the rest, since it really channeled the spirit of Classic Fallout in that none of the characters were black and white, and instead many shades of moral and amoral gray. Also, the back story to Dead Money actually made sense and didn't either omit, handwave...

Who will the next big villains be?

Considering how bad Bethesda's Fallout 3 was, it could be so much worse. Anything from Alien Space Nazis, to a wastelander having to cross the irradiated remains of the old Inner German Border, while being mercilessly pursued by ghoulified East German Border Guards.

How did the PRC successfully invade the United States?

The PLAAF bomber is definitely a unique design though in a way it does seem to remind me of something out of the experimental aircraft which the Red Army toyed around with in the 30's. Also, if I'm recalling this correctly wasn't it hinted at or mentioned in either Fallout 1 or 2 that the PLAAF...

Is New Vegas crippled by bad writing?

Linear stories are generally uninspired and pretty much give no control to the player as to how the outcome of the game goes. That was one of the weakest points of the Assassin's Creed series was the fact that you were horribly boxed in, and always had to complete a mission the same way or you'd...

    Your least favorite FO3 quest.

It would have to be the main quest, as it was as uninspired as it was boring. Some 19 year old, unskilled, angry with his father type goes after dad(who abandoned him), and then for reasons that make even less sense decides he needs to carry on his legacy and free the wasteland from the clutches...

How did the PRC successfully invade the United States?

One point of the Fallout Timeline that always gave me the moment of pause and had me scratching my head was how the PRC managed to launch a successful invasion of the United States. It might have been answered somewhere in the Fallout Bible, but can anyone answer these: Was the PLAN (Chinese...

    Future of the NCR

Though Fallout never truly was in the 50's so to speak(really only Bethesda's mockery of Fallout turned it into that), instead it was a future in which retro futurism was the visual flair, however it was not supposed to be wholly based around a 50's theme for everything.

    Russian-Ukrainian war

The interesting irony of this situation is that 30 years ago we would not have dared tolerate such behavior from the Soviets, and had they illegally violated the sovereignty of another nation, the West would have brought things to the brink and with a artful mix of military posturing and tough...

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

Victoria: An Empire Under the Sun, still a damn entertaining game even though in some ways it's surpassed by Victoria 2.

Companion you hated most on a personal level?

Though I can't say that I actually hated any of the companions, since they all did at least add something to the story, it should be pointed out that Boone out of all the companions did have the weakest story and personality.

    Canon ending for the Shi?

More than likely the Shi were absorbed into the NCR.

Who will the next big villains be?

The Commonwealth angle not only sounds incredibly stupid, and will no doubt put the series out to pasture. Though also, it seems that Bethesda has a fascination with transparent villains who all engage in what we would consider authoritarian behavior, and therefore we as the savior of the wastes...

Who will the next big villains be?

It would be interesting to see Presper or a less silly version of Big MT brought in.

    Fallout 4: The Commonwealth

Though this is an interesting idea, however I don't think a developer such as Bethesda would ever do anything like this, simply due to the fact that the narrative is too adult and if Bethesda's Fallout 3 is any indication of their "writing talents", then you'd be hard pressed to have anything...
