Fallout 2 Restoration Project (v1.1) Suggestions

Well, you have a thread full of eager beta-testers, a bug-list to check 1.2 against, etc. What could possibly go wrong? =]

Fallout 2 Restoration Project (v1.1) Suggestions

I've recommended more than one first-time-player to wait for F2RP final before playing, since it's truer to the original FO2 intentions...

Maybe if you said which bugs you couldn't confirm, others could try to confirm them, I don't know.

Calm down, dude. Read my previous post again. You missed at least two crucial things in it.

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

    No, but it doesn't sound like you have the latest F2RP version. Re-download, re-install FO2 and re-install F2RP. http://falloutmods.wikia.com/index.php?title=F2RP_Technical_Info

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Timeslip's engine tweaks and F2RP itself (at least v1.0) has been reported to work with (at least) Win95, Win98, Win2k and XP. Just check this thread. I've tested F2RP v1.1 with XP SP2 and XP SP3 and never needed compatibility mode, but the FO2 installer might need compatibility mode. (Mine...

Re: World map speed issue So F2RP v1.0 fixed the problem, and F2RP v1.1 brought it back. Maybe it's timeslip's engine tweaks in v1.1 that are causing the problem, while the modified engine in v1.0 didn't... or something?

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Re: World map speed issue Do you mean that after a clean install (in an empty directory) the map still crawled? That's strange. I have it at 30 (both before and after the F2RP installation), and the map moves at normal speed. Maybe it's your processor? I have a dual-core (mobile; 2.6 GHz)...

Sorry, I added that. I had no idea the fixes were included in the Feb 22 installer. It'll be nice when v1.2 comes and all this confusion can go away. =] I don't think so. Are you sure?

Did you know Killap (maker of F2RP) also made a "patch" for F2? It's not a mod, but it fixes most of the bugs in original F2. It replaces all official "patches". http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=38422 If you want to play modless, this is the way to go.

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

That section isn't complete, but if Killap (maker of F2RP) doesn't say a mod is compatible, it isn't. And currently he's only said the mods included with the F2RP (the ones you can choose when installing) are compatible. Sure, they will be fixed, if they are indeed bugs and not just "quirks"...

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

This is the perfect thread. But none of the mods you suggested are compatible with F2RP, and the sfall mod thing is already included, because F2RP uses it for certain things: http://falloutmods.wikia.com/index.php?title=F2RP_Technical_Info

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

This was first reported about a week after the first F2RP release (and has been discussed many times in these 65 pages since then), it's a confirmed F2RP bug.

Fallout 2 Restoration Project 1.1 (Unofficial FO2 Expansion)

Well, I mean if it would be practically doable for Killap to let the rest of us fix the spelling/grammar. I know we could just go ahead and edit the existing files, but that wouldn't work in practice since Killap is working on the files, changing names, removing files, etc. But maybe this has to...

Would it be possible for you to "outsource" the grammar/spelling/etc fixes to the dialog?

Sorry, I just realized "OMW" means "on my way". I thought it meant something like "can't be arsed". Thanks!
