As far as I'm concerned,Fallout 3 never happened. *spoilers*

Before you told Harkness of his true nature, he didn't have a clue that Zimmer was any sort of danger. Afterwards, it would be far too risky to confront the man combing the entire wasteland for you if the confrontation didn't end with one of the parties dead. I don't know - I just feel more...

    Gun "nut" they are not.

Such as the Deathclaw, Centuar, or Ghoul? I don't know - it seems to me as though some people just draw a line in the sand when it comes to accepting the outwardly preposterous that best suits their position in any given debate. Not that I'm pointing fingers, but I see alot of Fallout 3...

I don't know - actively crushing a poor girl's dream seems pretty immoral to me. It's not exactly popping her head like a melon, but it's certainly not something a hero of the wastes would do. The perk you get for it is called "Dream Crusher", for crying out loud! If it's not evil, it's...

    Gun "nut" they are not.

Disbelief is something to be suspended on an individual basis - it's your game, and your experience. Where I see the resemblance of truth, others may not. Take my vacuum containment theory, for example...is it not possible that--- Bleh, nevermind. I've got nothing left to say that will make...

    Subways, Utility Stations=Copy/Paste

Meh - most subway tunnels in the real world are all pretty monotonous, too. Really the only thing that's going to change in the Fallout universe is the varying degrees of destruction and radiation. The subway tunnels are sort of a chore at times, but I think the game is made better for them.

Really? Thanks for the info. Which one is it?

There are no repercussions for killing Zimmer because Harkness expicitly states that he'll let it go this one time, if you do that favor for him. However, if you kill Zimmer under any other circumstances Harkness will be all over your ass. There are actually quite a few ways to pull off that...

Wrong on a few counts: I was in introduced to the Fallout universe in the 3rd installment, but I also happen to enjoy the 1st and the 2nd (Tactics, too, but I'm an RTS nut). Secondly, in Moira's quest you have the ability to discourage Moira from even finishing her book - netting you...

    Gun "nut" they are not.

Assuming they have mundane equivilants, which the Repeater does not. Still, though...I pity the fool who would allow the existance of this one weapon cast a pall upon their entire F3 experience. Who knows? Let's imagine the gun was preserved in a vacuum-tight enclosure for the past 199 years...

    Gun "nut" they are not.

In regards to #1: In Fallout 1, it was stated that the Sniper Rifle you use was reworked to use 223's instead of 308's because 223's are more common in that area. In other words (as previously stated in this thread), it's a gameplay convention...but not one used in Fallout 3 alone. In regards...

Be realistic, now: if Bethsoft wanted to appeal to 12 year olds, they would not have revived a cult game from the 90's. I, for one, found plenty of choices to be made in Fallout 3. In fact, there doesn't seem to be nary a single quest without some sort of moral choice put in the hands of the...

This thread has devolved into a whirlpool of negative sentiment. My point is that it was meant to be quite the opposite. It doesn't matter, though - I wash my hands of it. I'm sorry, but dismissing me isn't as simple as dismissing a mere troll. But dismiss me you will, and I'm fine with...

I can see my post was completely ignored. Ah well. Go on hating Fallout 3 on a Fallout 3 appreciation thread, if it makes you feel better than hating it on a thread designed especially for that purpose. I'm gonna go play it now, I think. Have fun.

Between the bobbleheads and the skillbooks, all of my characters ended up being more or less the same. As much as I loved the game, it got far too easy near the end. The Alien Blaster pretty much ensures that you'll be able to blast through the entire final mission with nothing but one-hit kills.

Well, it's not intentional. You're offending yourself. You want to be offended because that gives you a reason to continue filling this positive thread with negative feelings. I'm not calling you or anyone else an "elitist", that is just the impression you're getting from my post because you...

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but...you're borderline offended that people like this game in the first place, despite your opinion of it? No, I don't care if you enjoy the game or not. Just let those of us who do enjoy it in peace.

    Impressions thread for positive impressions

Even if it's only borderline offensive to you...why? Do you feel that your opinion of Fallout 3 makes it a worse or better game in my eyes, or anyone else's? That's what my sig is directed at: not towards any particular person, or group of people, but the idea that this game needs the approval...

Well, I'll keep that in mind in the future. Thanks for the help. I attempted a diplomatic build recently and was eaten alive by cave rats before I even left the Vault cave. I suppose I need to get alot better.

As do I, friend. I hope you can say the same about Fallout 1 and 2, though. And no, I don't expect anyone to just "shut up"...I just wish such opinions were expressed in the appropriate threads. Some of us here truly appreciate this game in our own way, and everyone should recognize that it's...
