Obsidian Announcement on 6th of December

combat looks like a huuuge improvement from new vegas but sadly rpg mechanics really don't translate well into the first-person perspective. i mean for example how he shot that sniper right in the head with a revolver (9:40) and the guy just shrugged it off. i don't know if that's just me but it...

Obsidian Announcement on 6th of December

wow they really screwed up the translation in my country i like the idea of picking character's disadvantages but it's an easy thing to screw up - think of traits in fallout, some are just beginner's traps. i also don't like that they're optional, i generally prefer games with set mechanics

Obsidian Announcement on 6th of December

they couldn't have get a better timing  i'm mostly concerned that they're trying to make another new vegas just in a different dress. i love new vegas, but we've already played it. trying to make the same great thing twice almost never ends well

Fallout 76 Really Sucks. People Act Shocked.

that's exactly what fallout needs - thousands of teaspoons which you can pick up and sell for 0,01 bottle caps each. the old games would have done the same if it wasn't for the engine's limitations

Fallout 76 Really Sucks. People Act Shocked.

i don't know if it was posted already. he's the only gaming youtuber i watch, he's passionate about oldschool pc games, generally has a great taste (apart from liking f3 and f4) and makes great videos. worth a watch, he makes some good points, both on positives and negatives

Fallout 76 Really Sucks. People Act Shocked.

this forum is reversed NMA, people love f76 and rate it 7-8/10, so don't get your hopes up, the game still have its share of fans. and most people hating on f76 and beth don't really know why, they loved f3 and f4, they're just following the trend and internet trends end quickly, so meh oh btw...

Fallout: Sonora, a new project by the developers of Fallout: Nevada

that's the point. if a german version comes out, there will be german in place of russian and spanish will still be spanish

Fallout: Sonora, a new project by the developers of Fallout: Nevada

probably because the southern regions are supposed to feel foreign to the player as the main character comes from the north. english is substituted with russian and spanish remains spanish. something similiar was done in original war i like that cool-badassery touch like in the first fallout

Fallout with Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky on YouTube

i struggled alright but not with understanding UI and mechanics and playing along with them. i still think they were really simple compared to most rpgs of that era although i think that my very first character died in the glow and i didn't have a saveslot where i could prevent death because i...

Fallout with Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky on YouTube

i think fallout's ui and mechanics are one of the simplest out there. fallout was actually my first rpg game and i played it when i was 8, i think. i still struggle with most old crpgs i play today but fallout wasn't hard to grasp at all (and note, in my country it didn't come with a huge fancy...

Why does Bethesda make everyone essential?

it's like saying that a bug is actually a consequence because the player did something to trigger it. the devs didn't expand the story and didn't let the player affect the world by killing an important person, they just came up with the prophecy or something and called it a day

Why does Bethesda make everyone essential?

the game becoming broken because of lacks in the story is not a consequence in an rpg if you join the slavers in fallout 2, many characters will not be willing to speak to you and you lock yourself out from many quests - that is a consequence
