Does a GECK really purify water?

I can read. I can re-read as well. What are you trying to say, though? :eyebrow:

Why Fallout 3 is not as bad as most people on this forum think

Really. Perhaps I'm ruined by Minecraft and its clones, but I think it would have made the crafting bit way cooler as well - make bows out of wood and shit and reinforce it with springs and other scrap you can scavenge. You can make a slingshot bloody easily out of old car tires - if it didn't...

Does a GECK really purify water?

So there is what? I understand from that Bible #6 quote that designers and/or role-players might wish to imagine it to be like a magic box of 1950s science, that's cool, but that is not what they went for with Fallout 2. Bethesda picked it up for Fallout 3 though. As I'm not a fan of the...

Why Fallout 3 is not as bad as most people on this forum think

I wonder why there weren't any bows and arrows in New Vegas :irked: Would make some sense with the tribals for example and might make stealth interesting (I'm not so sure about Skyrim bows and stealth, though) Mathius, yeah I did generalize by saying "the new fans". I meant some - specifically...

    Russian-Ukrainian war

I think it should be safe to assume that when people say "Russia", "Russians", "Ruskies" et al in this thread they generally mean the Putin-led government, Russia as a country rather than people or the nation. I have great many Russian friends from St. Petersburg and outside of Russia as well...

Why Fallout 3 is not as bad as most people on this forum think

You're right about that. I did and do applaud lujo's take on it, though. Among others. I do not intend my tumblr comment to stand on its own. T'was more like icing – worthless without the cake. Also - when I said that somebody likes dumb stuff, does not necessarily mean I consider them dumb. I...

Oh I'm sorry, should I include a list of references with my post? :seriouslyno:

    Russian-Ukrainian war

In the West several groups (countries, NATO, blabla) have been wagging their fingers already. Do you think they'll back words up with muscle when Russia doesn't react to patronizing?

    Russian-Ukrainian war

I don't think the issue with nukes is that the big nations are afraid that they'd be destroyed altogether. It's the dust, fallout and civilian collateral that's the problem. Nuking anybody is not profitable - and in the end the 21. century wars have been about profit and long term gains. It...

Have you moved on from Fallout?

Ha! I still frequent these forums... I think there are finally several new games coming out that might be comparable to Fallout. The new Torment, Wasteland 2 etc. I'll most definitely boot up good ole Fallout when Mutants Rising is finished :look:

    Scenery stuff and such...

I'd rough up the yellow line at the base of the truck. I attempted a paint over. Maybe add some details as well? Cosmetic or a spare wheel - you never know what you'll run over out in the Wasteland :look:

    What the hell????

It worked better in Fallout 1 - in FO2 it doesn't always work for me. Haven't figured out a pattern yet, but I don't really play it that often anymore...

    How to take Metzger out?

Now that is really taking advantage of the game engine. Might as well use super stimpacks to kill them in one go. While stealing the shotgun and locking the doors is borderline "cheaty" I'd still consider it acceptable. I usually freed Sulik, gave him an SMG and the sharpened spear and started...

Who will the next big villains be?

 They do own the license. So. Wishful thinking. As this is the Future Fallout Game Discussion, I think presuming that Beth will sell the cash cow Fallout license any time soon is a bit far fetched. On topic: I'm not sure one should start with the villain - that approach (beginning with...

VATS implementations in an MMO setting

It would be like an online sudoku cafe! Muties and raiders hanging out at a bar doing shots and then step outside to do battle, wild west style

    Fallout: A Post Nuclear Reboot

Franchise reboots are a rather masturbatory activity.... Fallout came to be at all because the developers had lost the right to make another Wasteland game. I think that all the energy that would go into rebooting Fallout should be put into making a game that would strive to be as revolutionary...

Does a GECK really purify water?

The dwellers of Vault 8 had stripped most of the tech from their Vault to build Vault City in the first place. The water purifying system was probably dismantled, the bits used elsewhere.
