Arkham Asylum was awesome, but mainly for the fighting system. It lost a lot of points for me for the painful linearity, which is a shame, because the locations looked totally awesome. No it wasn't. It wasn't nearly as good, but I'd hardly call it 'utter crap' - that should be reserved for all the subsequent titles in the franchise, IMO.
