    J.E. Sawyer interview

*sigh* My pretty post lost in a sea of debating the virtues of NMA's journalistic approach vs DaC and Codex's uh... freeform style. And to think I was even speculating about the possibly bleak future at Obsidian. Oh wait, they signed that deal with Sega. JE will be the lead on "Sonic: The...

    J.E. Sawyer interview

Didn't Sawyer work on... no, wait it was... uh... Hmm. Well Kharn, when you're right, you're right. Seriously. Sawyer either has bad luck or makes bad decisions because the only thing he ever started and finished was an expansion for IWD and IWD2. BG3 and FO3 dead. He left Midway. Took...

Fallout repeats last year's E3 showing

Hmm. I say we invite the guys from Bethesda to a "friendly" game.

Fallout repeats last year's E3 showing

Personally, I've always wanted to see the Superbowl champs take on a UK or Aussie rubgy team... with rugby rules. Obviously, that means no pads. HA! Then we'll separate the men from the boys.

Fallout repeats last year's E3 showing

Actually, I was a Super Moderator and my rank title was Evil Forum Nazi. Mods couldn't ban people but I could... mwuhahahahaha! But thanks Kharn. :D

Fallout repeats last year's E3 showing

You do know that you can't judge a book (or game) by it's cover right?

Fallout repeats last year's E3 showing

Yeah, the poster looks good. I'll give them that much at least but... a poster only goes so far. I still have next to no hope for the game itself based on past experience with their titles.

    Feargus on FOOL

You mean he's escaped his Fat Elvis phase? Last picture I saw of Feargie reminded me of a cross between said chubby chipmunk, and with the rosey cheeks and nose, a drunken Salvation Army Santa Claus. Well, maybe we'll get a chance to find out. On our deathbeds, we've got to be sure to we...

    Feargus on FOOL

Oh joy! I knew there was a reason I awoke around 3 AM. It was to read this and laugh. I was missing the Feargie bashing. His mum being cockney explains much. Maybe he could try making his interviews even better by tossing off some cokney rhyming slang. Every time that jackass opens his mouth in...

Fallout 3 mentioned by Pete Hines

I just went to his site. I read a few things. He is stupid and I hate him. I feel my brains running out of my nose and this is the best post I can come up with.

    RPGCodex "does" J.E. Sawyer

Poor Ferret. Ferret go bye-bye. But I don't think Sawyer can screw it up too much. The game is supposed to be released in a few months and Atari won't give Obsidian any additional time so no massive rewrites from JE. I can't wait to see if there's an amnesia plot though...

    RPGCodex "does" J.E. Sawyer

All this talk of amnesia made me completely forget something; the title MCA will be remembered for long after PS-T and FO2 have turned to dust... Descent to Undermountain!!! I almost forgot it myself. I kept confusing it with that Disney movie "Escape from Witch's Mountain". An easy...

    RPGCodex "does" J.E. Sawyer

Seriously, between FU, MCA and JES I often wonder how the three of them can all fit in one room. Must make for some interesting "ego" stroking...

    RPGCodex "does" J.E. Sawyer

Well, I was trying to give MCA the benefit of the doubt. But there are two things that really screw that attempt. One is the extreme lack of variety in Planescape material out there at the time. Hell, I think the DarkSun setting have more source material than Planescape and like you, I...

    RPGCodex "does" J.E. Sawyer

PS-T is what reintroduced me to gaming. Prior to that I hadn't played anything since the early-mid 90's. At the time I thought it was brilliant and very original. Then I read a TSR novel in the Planescape setting called "Pages of Pain" by Troy Denning which came out in September 1996. The...

Fallout 3 mentioned by Pete Hines

Just took a look at the site myself and I'll definitely give credit for doing something I've always wanted to see more of: Good old fashioned Pulp Sci-fi. My favourite era for sci-fi is 1930's - 1950's. Visually, I think you've done a good job of capturing that era/feel.

That idea has been idealistically raised and pragmatically shot down many, many times before.

Snippet about FO3 @ NGR Oblivion interview

OK, if it's going to be "true to what is good and memorable about Fallout" then that implies an overhead view... but... I have a hard time imagining them doing that with their engine. If anything, I'd guess it'll be a camera toggle that'll be the equal to what they had in Morrowind. Maybe he...

    Fallout 3 will, y'know, like...not be at E3

Then that's simply foolish arrogance and pride on their part. There's no shame in paying "tribute/respect" to what came before. In fact, it might even garner them just a little respect.

    Fallout 3 will, y'know, like...not be at E3

Actually, it's both in this case. And yeah, Hines has a gift for public speaking y'know. As I said in the other Hines thread, I've heard Grade 8 students more gifted in oratory skills.
