This bug is caused by the reactor sounds. Here's how to fix it: Make sure you have a savegame from before you first entered the reactor room. Delete the file in the data\maps folders called encrctr.map. Now enter the map. It won't have the new reactor look but the game will not crash anymore...

From what I remember diggin' up Coffin Willie's grave on Golgotha does not make you a grave digger.

I never had any problems with it. I just opened the grave, used the hand icon like on some container, putted the bones in and used the shovel again.

Go to the graveyard on the east side of town. Find a grave named Anna Winslow and bury the bones there.

You have a point about the melee weapons but I don't think there's a much difference between standing three hexes away or five hexes away when the enemy carries a plasma rifle or other long range gun.
