    Forgive this rant, but....

All RPG's have action, it's subjective. In my opinion Fallout 1 had great action to it, the fights could be harrowing at times if you weren't careful and played it on a high difficulty level. You can't define action as only 'realtime games.'

Super Mutants and Enclave - Badass Decay?

Flamer works really good on them. Mmm, roasted crab.

You can tip over the Brahmin

Remember, you have to successfully sneak up on them before you get the option. If they see you, you can't tip them over.

    Forgive this rant, but....

By that thought any video game is a role playing game, that wasn't the reasoning behind the statement of "this game isn't an RPG." I simply meant, by the narrower view of an old school gamer, that the video game Diablo II was not a role playing game. It's not a turned based, tactical video...

    Forgive this rant, but....

Diablo was hardly an RPG, with it's uncustomizable characters, forcing you to be a certain gender based on the class you chose. But it still had a better storyline than Fallout 3 ever would. And anyway, Diablo was isometric, and so is Diablo 3, so what point are you trying to make here? You...

    Impressions thread for positive impressions

I don't give a damn about other peoples arguments against this game NYHoustonman. I have played both Fallout 3 and Oblivion, both of which are in my video-game pile. One was a gift, the other was something I purchased myself. I even took the time to replay the first maybe two hours of Oblivion...

    Impressions thread for positive impressions

What? Our minds don't need more? Oh, sure, we can just sit there and numb ourselves by playing a game with no point for hours on end like you do, grinding our IQ's into, heh 'oblivion.' What is the point of that? Yes, we need more damnit, a video game, no, an RPG is meant to HAVE A STORY...

    Gripes about the writing

There was voice acting in Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. The two that stand out to me are Harold, and Marcus. Harold's voice actor is someone that escapes me, but I remember when he talked for the first time, I was actually quite surprised and amazed. The voice acting was... well, it was good. Same...

    Impressions thread for positive impressions

There you go. "That extensive and complex." Fallout 3 comes up short in every way quant, and you want to know the ways it comes up short, compared to the other two? First of all, the argument over the ghouls is a simple one. Take, for example, Harold's face; I tried to find a...

What did Bethesda actually do better than Black Isle?

You know what, they didn't do a damn thing better. Why is when I go into the tunnel under the jefferson memorial, and try to use the pipe controls all I get is a message that says "You can't use this right now." Why? Why can't I use this right now? Is it rusty? Is it somehow locked...

Some odd "holes" in Fallout 3

Don't forget the near pristine motorcycles littered all over DC. I defy them to explain how these bikes remained upright for the most part, looking as though they did when they rolled off the factory line.

Reference to NMA in Fallout 3 ?!?!?!??!

People can see references anywhere if they look hard enough, there's no way to know if there is or isn't. Now that I give it some thought though, I would have to wonder why they would even bother?

I finished Fallout 3, these are my thoughts (Spoiler full)

Made me lol. I agree, I found myself quickly leaning on the crutch of fast-traveling simply to avoid expending ammo and stims on fighting enemies that, well, let's face it, are boring to fight after awhile. Granted, I've had one or two pretty intense battles that involved a lot of flashy...

Reference to NMA in Fallout 3 ?!?!?!??!

Huh. Well, you know, while they were developing the game, they were (s)trolling around on this message board frequently, maybe it is?

    Fallout 4 Wish List

    A real RPG.

    A genuine, worthy sequel

In the game I play, VATS is actually relatively useless. It comes in handy in a pinch, can be useful for taking out grenades, and is great if you want to pause to think for a second, but I've found that sometimes I do lousy when I shoot enemies while in it, versus when I shoot them outside of...

Some odd "holes" in Fallout 3

It still looks like double-A's, but I agree on the Hunting Rifle, it's one of my favorites, simply because it seems more accurate as to what people might be carrying (though even that's a stretch, where do all these bullets come from?) It also makes the game challenging =)

Some odd "holes" in Fallout 3

I think the point of Moriarty was that he was someone that no one trusted, but he was a petty criminal, hardly anything near the level of, say, Gizmo. The batteries were definitely lead/acid batteries much like modern batteries, albiet a touch smaller. Does anyone else notice that when you...

    Favorite Locations

The point of invading is to gather loot or slaves, why would you bomb the supporting pillars? You'd destroy everything, and unless you were just a roaming psychopath (which there probably are,) there'd be no point to doing that. Then again, you might be just such a person :P
