    Devil May Cry

^ Yeah, that thing you said. I don't actually think that it's inconsistent or bad, because it makes perfect sense within the game story. And I don't really see why the game has to copy the comic by the letter. As Walpknut said, they tend to be sh*t. P.S. I think the fact that it's possible...

    Devil May Cry

Just for the record, not copying the (dubious) reference material directly hardly constitutes a "plot hole". Just sayin'.

    Devil May Cry

Why wouldn't you want play a PC game using PC controls? I mean, I realize that many gamers have been beaten into submission by countless crappy console ports, but I feel like this should be a no-brainer. Regardless of whether you prefer to use additional devices to play a game, I think it's...

    Devil May Cry

Well, characters written in a way where you kind of care about them and what happens to them shows a level of commitment to writing and developing them that's higher than cardboard cutouts delivering questionably entertaining punchlines. Besides, I find it more fun personally to be actually...

Talk about silly interviewer questions

    Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

I read somewhere that it's been scheduled for 2014, so they don't have THAT long

    Devil May Cry

The thing is though, one can only take it with so much enmity if he is invested in it. To others it's not "bastardization", just change. Probably not as significant as it seems to those who are. I think a closer analogy would be comparing NWN1 and NWN2. Different studios, approaches, and...

    Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

Well that's the thing, it's a daunting task to keep up the same level of C&C/storytelling with an open world several times bigger than the last two games. I expect it to be naturally dumbed down whether they plan for it or not. Not to mention that the article makes a Skyrim comparison, which is...

    Devil May Cry

DMC3 maybe. 4 was stale as hell. I'm not saying the writing is stellar, but it's decent as compared to horrible. I'm not a diehard fan of DMC so this doesn't apply. Also DmC doesn't alter the core principles as mechanics, just tweaks some minor details, so the comparison isn't a good one...

    Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

Saw this today. First reaction is why why WHY would you turn a good series of story- and choice-focused RPGs into another Elder Scrolls clone. :( Y'know, I actually liked the Witcher games for those things precisely, I could care less for a horseback riding simulator set in the same universe...

    Devil May Cry

I agree completely. The game at least HAS a story, and it's not half-bad either. And decent voice-acting, too. As for mechanics, it may not be good enough for the "too hardcore for my pants" crowd, but for me it's FUN, and that's what matters most

Obsidian almost made Baldur's Gate 3

So does the story in any other genre, if no proper effort is made. There are a plenty of high fantasy games with compelling stories that aren't entirely formulaic, or at least have a unique storytelling style.

    Devil May Cry

Well, no point in pretending that writing in any other DMC games was anything but. Now, are they going to release a PC version, or what?

    New Baldur's Gate Game

Well, there's also BGT, which pretty much self-installs IIRC.

inXile acquires Torment license. Stuff in the works?

If by "planes" you mean "corridors", then I'm sold!

inXile acquires Torment license. Stuff in the works?

^ Well, it really isn't the same as FO3, since they apparently aren't making a sequel or even a game set in the same universe. So it's fairly empty hype for something almost completely unrelated to the IP. Somewhat useful as publicity, but that's about it. I'm guessing they bought it cheaply...

inXile acquires Torment license. Stuff in the works?

Ah, fair enough, though I'd guess Wasteland is a bit more of a legend. It'll be curious to see how this develops, compared to, say, Project Eternity. Two almost completely opposite marketing strategies.

inXile acquires Torment license. Stuff in the works?

Well, not immune to marketing per se... But from what I've seen, it's usually not the kind of people who'd buy a game just because there's a certain name is slapped on top of it. I mean, we're not talking the CoD or Halo crowd here. If it becomes clear that the game actually has little to do...

inXile acquires Torment license. Stuff in the works?

I kinda agree with Jebus, I see little sense in this. I mean, it's not like Torment uses any kind of unique specific elements, and not like you need a Torment license to actually make a game of the same style. And one would think most Torment fans are smart enough not to fall for this if it's...

    Devil May Cry

To be perfectly fair, that was the case with Nero in DMC4 as well. I don't think I ever really used the gun for him. The sad thing, as usual, is that the PC version will *maybe* be released in some undefined future. In other words, if the console version doesn't sell bazillions, they might...
