Fallout website up and Vision Statement revealed

In other words "Here's the producer's vision statement before the game was made! It obviously fits what we're doing (LOL VIOLENCE!!) so we're staying true to Fallout!!!! What do you mean Tim Cain & co's actual design? Who the fuck are they?" Also, did Todd dye his hair black? Is it a wish to...

    Soo...what's for dinner?

No no no the radiation would flip them over and expose their weak point for MASSIVE DAMAGE!

    Please stand by again

Maybe they're about to reveal that the "Fallout 3" we've seen is not but a console spinoff, and now they're ready to show the new PC isometric/turn based Fallout 3! [/wishful thinking]

    All About Arcanum

I've always regarded RT combat as horribly broken, if you use guns that is; you can just kite everything to death, even things that'd kill you in one hit in TB mode.

    Racist Resident Evil 5

Well while we're at it, as a Spaniard by heritage I was deeply offended by Resident Evil 4's depiction of the inhabitants of a Spanish village as bloodthirsty savages being killed by an Anglo-American.

    ZeniMax forms Online division

There's already a Star Trek MMO in development (not by Bethesda). And a Stargate MMO. And now maybe soon a TES and Fallout MMO... IS NOTHING SACRED???

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

Well let's work it out. Petroleum is so rare that China had to invade Alaska for the last few drops of it, the U.S. put up the Poseidon Oil rig in the middle of nowhere to get the supply there, and even that ran out. In this world, how many cars in use are still going to be gasoline powered...

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

*sigh* Obviously your sarcasm detector requires repairs. And your argument is a red herring. Simply because they weren't destructable in Fallout 1 + 2, it doesn't mean it's okay for them to go Hiroshima in Fallout 3 since it still violates continuity and the spirit of the universe. Like it...

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

Psychotic maybe? These are after all the same people who make ticketbots with military grade lasers that summarily execute anybody who forgets their ticket.

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

I was pre-empting an oft-heard argument. That isn't a strawman. It has already been explained why it contradicts the world of Fallout. Besides, why don't you toss a plasma grenade at the Highwayman in F2 and see what happens? It's common sense. It's not realistic. It's not 50s Science...

    ZeniMax forms Online division

Suddenly I have the horrifying vision of Zenimax buying out Herve's remaining rights to a Fallout MMO (since there's no way that loser's ever going to pull that off) and making it themselves. Oh the humanity!

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

From my perspective, if I were Todd Howard and had an iso mode ready to please the hardcore fans, I'd freaking well show it as soon as I could. He didn't. Nevermind the fact that everybody at Bethesda is spewing the FPP = immersion line, FPP is better than iso blah blah blah. How exactly are...

    Gamespot user soapbox

Now now, no need to resort to a pro-Beth troll's style. Besides, it's not like Oblivion was a carbon copy of past FPP RPGs.... .. I mean, it had far less features and depth.

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

They spent copious amounts of time on showing their omgsowonderfullol Megaton quest and "hilarious" killer ticketbots and exploding nuclear cars but couldn't take a second to show Fallout 3's gameplay in iso even though it's supposed to be the direct successor of an isometric series?

And yet they haven't shown a single instance of it in action. Not a single demonstration of how the UI handles 3rd person/iso, not a single gameplay movie in those perspective, not one shot of that perspective indoors. All we have are promises. And Bethesda's promises are always shall we say...

27 Things About Fallout 3... and then some.

So basically Brian Fargo was a glorified playtester for Fallout.. of course that means his public statements override Tim Cain & co's original design goals! Silly me.

    Sex, Drugs and.......

And why are you ignoring Invisible War? It may have happened mid-game, but it was still a school full of innocent children that you could burn to death and watch their friends cower in terror before unloading a bullet into their small heads.

Why you don't need a katana

Unfair test - everybody knows using Viking swords is cheating. I mean, they're blessed by the Norse gods man. Nobody messes with them.

    Sex, Drugs and.......

As far as Invisible War goes.. the section where you can start to kill children occurs in the mid-game, not something a casual gamer or Christian Fundie Political Patrol Officer would come upon easily.
